I was a Scout Leader for 10 years and often had to explain to Scouts piss drinking was a bad idea.

I was pleased to find that Congleton, Cheshire (strongly associated with bears, since the town bible was supposedly swapped for one) has a Bear Grills burger place.
Also, I recently had a sandwich in The Sandwich Shop in Sandwich.

I want to send someone in Germany a Cohiba cigar. A mate is travelling to Germany, and should be allowed to import the cigar as part of their personal allowance. Can he then send the cigar via the German post, or is there a rule or fee or something to be aware of?
Inadvertently going for the hat trick it seems…

I have a Kaweco Sport pen in brass. Is it true that tuning a nib is more critical for smooth writing than the material it's made of? Mine is the basic steel one, Kaweco offers a few upgrade options.
I'm picking up a loupe today for inspection purposes. -

Sounds like a question for the pens thread

No idea how but I managed to snap a bolt in my stem. The bottom half is still in there and will move either way but it's not long enough to protrude out beyond the split in the stem to get hold of it to move it along the rest of the way towards where the head of the bolt was. It also won't go past a certain point to fish it out of the back side. Any hot tips on how to get the bastard out?

Hacksaw a channel across the end of the bit sticking out and use a flat head screwdriver to wind out?
-
• #122698
Great idea! Should have thought of that. Cheers.

Or file some flats onto it and get hold of it with a mole grip.
If you start to drill a hole in the end, it might just whizz it out too.

The mole grips won't help in this situation. The problem is that there's a section of the stem that the bolt needs to pass through that completely hides the bolt so there's nothing to hold on to. A drill might work through!
