Nice place to stay for a night between Kettering and Okehampton? Preferably with something nice do to for a family with a toddler during the day.

Somewhere around Bristol? Loads to do with kids there.

Thanks! The walk through the woods was nice. The footbridge is closed all day today but thankfully open yesterday.
The footbridge south of Forest Hill (by the German church / Dacres Wood) is out of action for a month or so.
Wells Park Rd is too much hill.

There was some walking involved.
It was nice to go past the youth centre halfway up though, I'd admired it on paper and it looked good and well used IRL too. -

Hey guys,
Bit of an off topic one (maybe impossible in the any questions thread actually)... but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
I've come to the realisation I need to find another place to live and should start the eternally depressing process of finding somewhere. I'm loathed by the whole thing and was wondering if LFGSS might hold some answers. I don't suppose there's a thread or something similar where I could chuck up a 'looking for a room' post?
I'm sure the forum can't hold all the answers but then again, maybe it can....

Legend, thanks mate. Must've missed it in the search.

by any chance, would anyone know (or have the possibility to test) if the Paul Groovy barrel adjusters would fit on other levers, such as for example Shimano Deore T610 levers?
If not I guess I just have to try it haha -

Someone posted on here a while back about a bike shop (maybe in Bedfordshire?) that was doing some amazingly neat bar tape wrapping / finishing. I’m just about to re-tape a few sets of bars and it popped into my head as a good reference point to try a new way of finishing but I can’t find it anywhere…

Looking for a suspension fork for my Marin Pine Mountain 27.5+
Not really sure what offset or travel I'd be needing. Frame also has a tapered headset.
Currently has a set of DT Swiss wheels on it that are unfortunately 12mm thru axle, so I think my choices will be limited. This is the bike I'd be looking for a fork for. (Not the same wheelset)

Better to find the right fork and change the wheel than to compromise your fork selection to match a deprecated axle standard. You might get a conversion kit, but if you can't, front wheels are cheap.

I find myself in the unexpected position of having to collect a slab of marble from the Hemel Hempstead area by the end of the week. I'm a 5'2" middle aged female person. My car is a Vauxhall Meriva. The slab is 1700 x 1800 x 20 mm and weighs about 160Kg. These facts will not work well together.
Has anyone got any suggestions / recommendations for marble slab moving services or very strong men with very strong vans?

What did you opt for, out of interest?

Wee place in redland. Limited options short notice and short budget, but seems to suit.

Good advice. Cheers.

Any medium or large van should take that pretty easily, just need the strong men at either end!

Any suggestions for a tough laptop case for a 14" laptop? I'm looking for something to help me transport my laptop on a front rack without scrambling it but have no idea where to begin.

Especially in the several pieces it will be in by the end of the journey. 20mm is thin for such a large expanse, I think it needs a specialist. You won't be able to lay it flat in most panel vans due to the wheel arches, e.g. Sprinters and full size Trannies are only about 1.4m between arches. Probably needs a vehicle with a glass rack.

I think I'm going to be stitched up by the door supplier, what can/should I do?

Have you considered DIY?

Turn the supplier into a table and matching chairs? It's a bit grisly but I could try it.
Take a hammer to it and find out
