  • I don't think so?

  • These look like the leading contender, certainly much more likely than the ones I linked to from SJS which don't have the step-down before the thread starts.

    Thanks all for the input!

  • No probs, I might have some old ones, will have a check later

  • That would be amazing man, thank you.

  • Can't you just go to Clerkenwell Screws like any sensible person?

  • Well, considering I work less than 5 mins away from them I certainly could, albeit having been in once only to be ignored, treated incredibly brusquely and then told they don't stock the screw I was looking for my opinion of them isn't that high. Plus I wouldn't have thought they'd carry such niche cycling products as chainring bolts but I may be wrong in that.

Anyway, friendly forum interactions certainly beats that particular shopping experience...

  • I'll put money on Clerkenwell Screw not stocking chain-ring bolts.
I used to do a lot of business with them about 20 years ago when I was at The Science Museum.
I went in there not so long ago and was quite shocked as to how decrepit in appearance they had all become. I think most of them smoke/smoked.

  • That was my assumption (the lack of stock rather than the smoking).

You weren't a model-marker at the Science Museum were you? If so you may well have overlapped with the fiddler in my band, name of Joe...

  • It was a joke, by the way. More often than not, Clerkenwell Screws is the answer to everything, but of course I'm well aware that they don't have chainring bolts.

  • a model-marker

Sounds like vandalism to me. :)

  • Yeah, I know Joe Martin.
    Talented musician.

  • Ha, small world! I'll be seeing him this evening...

  • Pass on my regards, pls.

  • How many did you need?
    Can you collect from SE?

    Maybe send a PM

  • He sends his back, and says you should come see a gig 🤣

  • Have PM'd, cheers!

  • We'd been working for a couple of months in Azerbaijan. Joe had his violin with him and was returning home. When going through luggage check-in, they were most interested in the rosin they found in his violin case. This caused Joe to having to give an impromptu performance in the departures lounge, to authenticate what he was 'carrying'.
    How we laughed.

  • Ha - I've heard this before, we play that tune every now and then and Joe likes to recount that story when introducing it....

  • Imagine those valuable drugs just wasted on a bloody violin bow. Still, if it fooled them ...

  • Well that's tonight's earworm. The Devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal.....

  • Im applying for a provisional licence.
I had one when I was 15, lost it a few years ago. I have a picture of some of it but not the driver number.
    I dont have a passport.
    I look different.
    My address is different.
    Pretty sure its expired too.

If I apply as a new provisional is it gonna cause problems as its not really my first provisional? It just seems more straightforward, espesh in my circumstance, to apply as if its my first one, through the post. I have everything I need to do that.

    God I hate overthinking everything!
    Cheers.

  • I'd apply to renew personally
Presumably you were 15 quite a while ago?

Call them. Easier than potentially having to explain why you have two driving licenses at some point in the future.

  • It seems very confusing.

I was wondering if I would need a provisional licence to learn to drive a car, they say yes.
I click on the apply for provisional licence button, and the options are: 1st one, renew an expired one, replace a lost one, reapply after disqualification.

The only provisional I had was turned into a full motorbike licence, and didn't expire (I only had it for 6 months before getting a full license, however it would have expired by now if I hadn't passed my test)
No option covers me for having a category A licence and wanting to get B licence

  • No option covers me for having a category A licence and wanting to get B licence

Surely your full A licence is by default a provisional licence for all other categories.
