Front number fell off and I can’t re-attach. I’m waiting for a new one and have the old one on my dashboard so it’s at least visible. Will I get pulled over for this? Is having one in the post a good enough excuse?

My rear is currently stuck on that way as one of the screws has seized in the captive nut that now just spins. I clamped the nut from inside and the screw head broke off.

That’s what it was fixed on with previously. Basically the old number plate is a single line one (horizontal) and my front bumper needs a 2 line one (square-ish) in order to fit properly and not just randomly fall off.

Given the number the number of people I see out and about whose front plates have apparently “fallen off”, the chance of being pulled is zero.

I really like my All City Mr Pink, I've had it for about a year and have enjoyed it more than any other bike I've owned. The only thing I think I'd want to change about it is the lack of disc brakes. Are there any reasons not to swap the forks and get the appropriate gubbins glued onto the rear triangle to convert it?

We send stuff 5m and longer to the EU all the time. It goes by dedicated vehicle rather than with loads of other people's parcels. Europa Shipping is the name of the outfit. They operate on the basis having a pool of vehicles which would otherwise be returning empty to their home country/base.

Question about old ‘washing line’ shimano shifters.

I can’t figure out how to set up (changing cables as I’ve moved the bars up).

Instructions say you have the ratchet position completely at the maximum pull when you set the cable, which is the opposite of the position I’m used to gripping the cable at the mech (ie at the position of zero pull).

Can anyone help? How do you grip the cable if the pull is set to max? Hold the mech with that third hand?

Instructions unclear, the shifter should be in the smallest cog, otherwise you won’t be able to set the cable head properly in the ratchet.

Pretty sure they don't. They say use lever B which is the small lever behind the brake lever which releases the internal ratchet and puts it at zero pull.
