  • I should add, one thing i think it could have rubbed against is the polished metal bar on the trains bike section, similar to a bike stand bar, just in case this suggests it's something else.

  • T cut is a slightly abrasive car polish/rubbing compound that can restore very light scratches in paint.

  • If you can't get T-Cut, try Farecla G6. Similar sort of thing.

  • Might give the T Cut a go then in tandem with a little touch up paint to try to get rid of a few little scuffs...

  • If I have a 1" threaded fork with a longer steerer tube than I need, can I turn it into a 1" threadless fork by just cutting off the threaded section, using a threadless headset and 1" threadless stem/1 1/8" + shim?

(Or at a push if there is still a section of threads where the spacers and stem sit use an alu shim and 1 1/8" stem).

    Sheldon says:
1" Threaded ISO steerer OD = 25.4 mm
    1" Threadless stem ID = 25.4 mm
    1" Threaded Crown race = 26.4 mm
    1" Threadless Crown race = 26.4 mm

So that should mean I'm right, right?

  • can I turn it into a 1" threadless fork by just cutting off the threaded section, using a threadless headset and 1" threadless stem/1 1/8" + shim

Yes, assuming it’s long enough after cutting

  • just cutting off the threaded section

    Measure twice, cut once 🙂

  • Cheers.

  • Is there a recommended waterproof bike cover? My baby’s pram has taken its hallway space and the ‘waterproof’ one I bought from Amazon hasn’t worked.

  • Tarp from Wickes?
    Trim and eyelet to size.

  • 80cm high, circumference is 106cm

    Volume in litres?

Edit- I make it 71 litres which seems high

  • It would be ~70.5 litres, yes.

  • I'm currently freelancing at a large corporation. They use outlook and teams and I have an @largecorp address/login. I'd like to be able to receive emails on my phone so I'm not chained to my desk however when I try to login via outlook for ios I get a message saying that largecorp "admin requires your device to be managed". What kind of data would they be able to collect if I was to allow this?
I've tried a workaround by auto forwarding all incoming email to my personal account, but despite outlook web app saying forwarding is turned on, it doesn't work. I also tried setting up a rule to forward any messages with me in the address/cc line however that doesn't work either.
Are they any other workarounds? I can access email through a browser on my phone, but I'd like to receive notification of new messages, not to have to manually check.

  • I've tried a workaround by auto forwarding all incoming email to my personal account

    Ha ha....ha

Rather than using outlook for IOS can you setup an office 365 account and have email show up in mail (and calendar invites shown up in calendar)?

  • "admin requires your device to be managed". What kind of data would they be able to collect if I was to allow this?

At my place this is so that they can confirm if you have a screen lock (no screen lock, no email access) and remotely wipe your phone. No general access to your data.

Does ios allow you to set up a work profile? On Android you can have a sandboxed work profile so access is limited to that.

  • Nope. If I try to add an outlook.com account I get the same "admin requires your device to be managed" message.
If I try to manually add it with IMAP it tells me "Logins are disabled for "Largecorp"

  • There are some email apps on Android which 'sandbox' the accounts to get around required permissions, I use BlueMail. There may be a similar app in the Apple ecosphere though I'm afraid I don't use any Apple products so can't make a specific recommendation

  • Anyone ever shimmed a 25.4 seatpost to a 25.8 seat tube?

  • I have an unopened ctc plastic thing from wiggle that you can have for free/postage if you want?

  • No, but it should shim no problem. Drinks can is around 0.15mm, you'll probably be best off using that if you don't already have some 0.2mm shim sitting around.

You absolutely sure it's a 25.8mm seat tube though, not 26mm or 26.2mm which has closed up...

  • I've not recieved the frame yet, so currently just considering options. Will measure when it arrives.

Best option for post so far is this Thompson https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thomson-Elite-Seatpost-Patent-330-MM-Various-Designs/233932422063?var=533580317727

  • Yes please! Will PM

  • ever shimmed a 25.4 seatpost to a 25.8 seat tube?

I've done 26.4 to 26.8, works fine with the right shim stock. Go to a model shop and get 0.008" brass (ideal) or Ni plated steel.

  • I just tried Citrix Secure Email - "Account not targeted with MAM policy. Contact your administrator"
Think it's time to give up and just routinely check my email in a browser

  • The Android solution is to run a sandboxed profile so there's no crossover between personal and work accounts. May be worth asking on the Apple thread if there is an equivalent for Apple.
