We're riding out to Brands Hatch tomorrow for a wedding reception and google pedometer's suggested route puts us through the Blackwall tunnel. I've read on here plenty of times that it's dangerous, but I've never used it myself. Is it really so bad that we should give the tunnel a miss?
Yes, it's a narrow dual carriageway which is quite twisty and has a fairly stiff climb out the other side. Use the Woolwich ferry or the foot tunnel at Greenwich.

Not just a bad idea, but an illegal one. No cycling in Blackwall Tunnel

Hockey World Champs start today. Anyone know if there is a UK broadcaster? My internet searching says now, but that seems a bit mental when even Ethiopia has a broadcaster.
(Not looking to be told why Ethiopia has a broadcaster and the UK doesn't, or other "look at me, I'm so smart" responses).
Also, thank you!

Blackwall Tunnel is out of bounds. Plus there are regular closures due to the construction works.
Rotherhive Tunnel is very scary - especially on a hot day, due to the high level of pollution. Forget about it if you have asthma.Try Woolwich ferry or Tower Bridge.

Girlfriends sisters daughters birthday today, she got a small BSO.
I adjusted it to suit, it's a little large still but works ok.
However, after adjusting the levers (using the reach adjustment screw thoughtfully provided) they won't pull enough cable to pull the brakes onto the rim hard enough.
The brakes are generic V brakes, the levers are generic black plastic over (I presume) a steel core.
Recommend me some levers that I can adjust to suit a 7 year olds hands, and still pull enough cable to operate the brakes fully?

Nancys Islabike has the Tektros, and they are fine.

Used to.
"WL9002869" mid-'79 apparently

http://www.sheldonbrown.com/vrbn-o-z.html"In 1974, an entirely different numbering system was introduced for the higher end (531 and subsequently 753) Raleighs. Serial numbers should begin with a "W", which stands for Worksop, the facility that produced theses frames. This is followed by another alphabet. This alphabet indicates the fortnight in which the frame was built (i.e. A = 1st fortnight, B = 2nd, etc.). The third character is always a numeral. It indicates the year of manufacture, the decade being assumed (i.e. "4" could be '74 or '84; it is up to the interpretor to know enough to tell if the frame is from the 70's or 80's). What then follows is a series of numbers. At this point, these appear to be some sort of sequence, but this has not been substantiated."

Frame to attach the new dunny to, means toilet is suspended/cantilevered from the wall, so looks nice+easy to sweep the mop under it.

That's very old school (to be fair to Sheldon, he died before HED pointed us towards the benefits of wider rims, although motorcyclists had been doing it for at least a couple of decades before that), I'd go with something more like this:
Just put my 35C Ritchey tyre onto a Mavic TN719, which is 19/25 on your table.
Now on the Mavic site they recommend 1.5" to 2.3", does this mean that I am going to die?
