Over 30 years in the same job and I still make less than €12.50 an hour
You're doing it wrong 🙂
I don't mind paying a higher price for a well made item of clothing that'll (hopefully) last.
..yea I wouldn't mind either - alas the point I was trying to make is that their stuff became even more expensive, yet the quality went down.
Like: a lot of times instead of the (very sturdy / worth-the-money) G1000 fabric you now only get G1000 lite which doesn't last nearly as long.I don't mean to bash on them for the sake of bashing, but to give you a really good example - their Kånken rucksack, a thin little thing that lasts about a year before developing holes and looking like shit, omnipresent on the back of hipsters all over Europe, is fucking £85.00 now.
And it's not made by well paid fairies in Finland but in Vietnam, by the way.

I've never understood the Kånken rucksack either. Seems really flimsy and cheaply made to me - I'm not sure I'd pay half that.

You can pay less than half for a fake one that seems at least as good.

To be fair, I've had a kanken for 10 years or so, and it's still in great shape, despite lugging around camera stuff in all sorts of places. I can't remember how much it cost me, but even if it was 85, 8.50 a year is good value, when my hiking osprey bags seem to only last a couple of years of abuse.
(It's not a style thing for me, and I'm sure I get laughed at being a man wearing one, it's just a big rectangle that completely opens up and has lots of handles and is great for access of camera stuff).

Fair enough but then they must have used a better material back then; I've seen quite a few of friends and family that wear like really really quick..

Good spot. Thanks.

My Daughters fake lasted 6 months, we have replaced it with a real one in light blue that looked dirty after one day....

Not entirely sure how they are responsible for customers getting their purchases dirty.

I’m just being grumpy.....

I had Kånkens as school bags as a kid (they weren't cool then, alas - my mum had lived in Sweden for a couple of years and liked them) and recall them lasting a couple of years before wearing through (usually near where the straps attached on the bottom). Not particularly waterproof, mind.

Hi! Anyone knows of a London bike shop that stocks this?

Despite not having all the monies I have a pretty comfortable life : )
I had a Kanken bag years ago - I liked the shape and ease of access but no structure and very little water resistance led me to sell it on within a few months. Theirs is a story that illustrates my point about sending all manufacturing overseas with the almost universal downgrade in quality and surge in pricing. -

Someone in my household - let's not point any fingers - came home sweaty from their commute home from work and sat on our recently-purchased yellow sofa.
Now there's a kind of stain on the back of it.
Is there a way of removing sweaty water stains?

yellow sofa.
Ambitious.
Steam and a clean cloth would be a good start. I'd also recommend a proofing spray as prevention (not with junior around, it can be pretty nasty to inhale).

Supermarket upholstery cleaner usually works. Comes in spray bottles, it forms a foam and then you wipe it off.
Just test it first on a non visible part of the sofa.

Get hot sweaty and properly filthy with another person and roll around on the sofa

Tie dye the sofa

I like your plan. Cover up the sweat stains with other stains.

Is there a default recommendation for a torque wrench?
Mostly for bikes, so lower range would be required.
wont get much use so ideally not mega ££££ -

The Planet X Jobsworth has done the job for me, looks like the Lifeline Essential one is the same. I wouldn't use it in a shop because the calibration may be untrustworthy but if you urr on the side of caution you'll be fine. Likewise I've got a Ritchey Torque Key which is set to 5nm but has replaceable bits and I only needed it for seatpost collars and stems anyway.

I have found out I'll be without internet for a week, starting Monday. This is a pain as I work from home... Has anyone had this issue and found a work around? Reception is quite poor where I am so I'm not sure hotspotting will work well...

Try and charm a neighbour into giving you their wifi key or maybe use BTwifi or similar. A lot depends on location.

I'd have a look at one of those coverage checker websites to see if there's another network that has better reception in your area. See if you can expense a PAYG sim
Meh. I eat lamb and mutton. Might as well use the rest.
