Hahaha, like I still have that!
But seriously, thanks. That helps, and means I have 50Kg + the 4.5Kg, right?
-
• #104003
To be strictly compliant, you'd have to carry the 50kg on your person 🙂🐪

I'm disassembling this and wondering how I get these hanger screws out. There's no flat or slot to get a tool on. Am I missing something?

Can you slot the threaded bar then screw it out?

Cheers. The jam nut worked far better than mole grips and cursing. Will have to remember that one

Thanks, that really is useful. I'm planning on the same thing, using hotels/hostels and riding part or all of the Camino El Cid.

Hello knowledgeable people,
I'm building up a Pearson Touche.
Will be running fixed/freewheel and have got some Novatec hubs on Testers advice.
Now got a little bit more money to get some road style brake levers. What do I want? Sram? If so, what model? TIA -

SRAM S500 is what I have on my bikes. S900 is the same but with carbon levers, which is very #tartmode but not a functional upgrade. Tektro/TRP RRL also has it's adherents, and who am I to argue; different hands like different hood shapes.
-
• #104012
I liked the S500 levers too when I was still using drops.
-
• #104013
Excellent, thanks both, they look great!
Don't need the carbon and they seem very economically priced. -
• #104014
What you want is Record SS levers but they're hen's teeth.

Sram?
Good lord, no. TRP RRL SR or Cane Creek SCR-5. If SRAM is the answer, you're asking the wrong question.

"What really annoys Bauke Mollema?"

I ignored you and bought a deckas thing.
What width chain fits these things?
This doesn't look right....

I had a couple that worked fine with 9 speed but not with 11 speed, even thought they were marked "7-12SPD". A few minutes with a file smoothing off the fatter teeth sorted it.
-
• #104022
Yeah, OK, that. And annoys me. But other than that...
-
• #104023
Depending on how soon you're wanting to build up I have both (TRP RRL and SRAM) on my fixed bike (because reasons), so have one of each spare if you wanted to borrow to feel how the hoods ... feel. (Technically the SRAM are gutted Rival levers, but they should be the same).
In Catford so nearby to you I think?

Didn't realise you'd moved to the SE!
Thanks for the very kind offer but I've just purchased some S500. Hope all good with you. -

A file? Jeez us. I'm not sure that's what I signed up for here when buying cheap chainrings.
Read the Cannondale user guide which came with your bike. Synapse is rated for 125kg rider plus 4.5kg saddle bag and/or bar bag.
