  • Loads of processed food + cigarettes + opiates = balanced weight

  • Try to be a Black Slender Woman. That's a challenge. Loads of shit on a daily basis from both men and women. "Are you alright?", "Poor you", "She lost her mind, now she'll be dating white boys"... Seriously, my wife was very depressed for a long time, because of the stupid comments from people she doesn't even know.

People assume that you are anorexic, because you are slim. Some people are slim, some are bigger. Sickly slim who starve themselves deserve some attention, so do super obese who can't help themselves but gorge on fatty food. It's all about the extremes.

    +1
( I gotta go but theres a friend of mine, one of the top competitors in U.K mountain marathons, disciplined guy and fit as someone 20 years his junior who always says to me during training " you can only get thinner" :-)

  • works for me

  • Loads of processed food + cigarettes + opiates = balanced weight

    =heart attack in mid-40's.
    Fun while it lasts..

  • I arguably weigh more than what I should.

I have a pretty healthy diet, I exercise, and I feel like I would be happier if I was thinner. And I'm a tough punk(esque) girl who doesn't like conforming to anyones standards.
I'm with a lovely man who likes me no matter what.
I would still love to be a size or two smaller, and feel, deep inside, that I would be a better person if I was thinner, even though I also know I wouldn't be.

I just wish there wasn't so much weight placed on our...errr....weight.

  • I know I know, this is a serious thread and whatnot, but I just came across this and had to share it.

The Worlds Fattest Man has had a lot of criticism lately.

It's ok though, he's taken it all with a pinch of salt. And a side of bacon, eggs, sausages, chips, fried bread, hash browns, beans, mushrooms, bubble and squeak, toast, black pudding and of course a diet coke.

    Haha I forgot I posted this, I re-lol'd.

  • "Measuring health vis a vis a perception of what is normal isn't very constructive."

thats what has changed, perception of 'normal' i.e healthy body weight, now overweight is seen as normal.

    [QUOTE=bodieanddoyle;1389492]
I consume my fair share of potentially fattening products, but make a point of knowing where to draw the line. These people just totally lack any self respect.

    do they?

We all look in mirrors or see ourselves in shop windows or even notice our jeans getting tighter - at which point we make a concerted effort to assess what it is we're consuming and make the necessary changes.

I say if you weigh more than your frame is built to handle then you should pay more tax. Therefore you're able to pay for the potentially long-term effects that you'll have on an already stretched health service.

thought about standing for a political position?

Go to the moon, you'll lose about 83% of your weight.

    Fun while it lasts..

Eat tofu and spend half of your life living with dementia, no sex drive and liver spots. Tempting.

more proof that fashion exists in a fantasy world.

I don't know you, so forgive me if I'm out of line:
you seem to have a very healthy and honest opinion of yourself; you seem to be self confident and sorted, healthy and happy. Dropping a few pounds wouldn't make you any happier - that's a load of toss you've picked up from magazines and other media.
    Rise above the bullshit!

I fucking wish Pete Doherty and Russel Brand *were *history.

yet none of your mass, the magic of words

Oh if you want to lose mass you've gotta do that the old-fashioned way. But weight loss is only a space rocket or very large trebuchet away.

  • with a 35-inch chest and a 27-inch waist

    That's me age 14.

That's what I'm trying to say. If a nearly thirty year old woman who has always done exactly what she pleases can still be very deeply effected by what the media portrays the ideal woman to look like, then imagine someone that isn't as old/tough/mean/witchy(canadian) as I am having to deal with it.

Yes, people should be healthy. But having the occational non-skinny role model isn't incouraging fat people in my opinion, it's re-dressing the media balance.

    Bloody hell.

"39.7 inches -* Average waist size of an American man (in 2006) *"

  • If you worry about media, watch Jeremy Kyle. It will make you feel happier about yourself and make you appreciate more what you've got.

  • Bloody hell.

"39.7 inches -* Average waist size of an American man (in 2006) *"

yes, but Americans aren't real people.

  • already posted this before int funny videos. but its too perfect to not go here!

Anti-gravity belts might be the solution.

  • Anti-gravity belts might be the solution.

    for your moobs, maybe

(sorry, couldn't help it, even though I have no idea what you look like)

  • Now, that's sexist.

  • What, making tits gender specific is sexist?

  • Is it because they are not perky enough? Nobody's perfect.
