Took ^^ out for 3 nights camping this weekend. easily the most comfortable I've even been sleeping outside.
Warmth was good but not overpoweringly so. sleeping in long johns and a baselayer with winter buff and two wooly hats on as there's no hood and I was perfect all night.
may have ruined sleeping in a tent in a bag forever for me though.

I am starting to 'tool up' for some adventures.
First purchase has been a Sea to Summit Sleeping mat (comfort plus insulated, large/rectangular) which I gave a trial run indoors last night. First impressions are that it is ridiculously comfortable. Somehow not far off of my rather spendy med/firm mattress on my actual bed.
Current verdict: 10/10 will sleep on again.

Weight and pack size?
-

Reviews I've read suggest the R value of these are pretty weak compared to thermarest.

I'm still looking for a fullsize NeoAir but other options will be considered.
-
• #557
Which NeoAir, Xlite?
No real deals to be had on ebay unfortunately. I've got a few different models. Had a regular xlite for a few years and love it. Recently also got the 3/4 size xtherm and xlite looking for something smaller.

Yeah, Xlite. It's audax/race kit so low pack size is main requirement. I have 3/4 version now and want the full length one to get my legs off the ground for a bit more comfort.
I'm still tempted to get another sleeping bag as it's usually the cold that stops me sleeping - the sleep pad made a big difference to that though so maybe a full size will help.

Large Rectangular: Ø12.5 x 26cm / 1120g.
I'm not racing, and often have trouble getting to sleep at the best of times, so focused heavily on comfort.
@motoko - You are correct, but I am unlikely to be using it anywhere near 0 degrees, and need the extra 7cm length the S2S offers. Reports of crisp packet noises from Thermarest also put me off, as I sleep both on my back and side and tend to move between the two until I nod off.

Think I paid £60 for my 3/4. I guess everything is more expensive than it was thanks to Mrs May. I'm not super bothered so I'm waiting until I find one under 100 at least.
-
• #562
This is true,
managed to get my 3/4 Xlite for 50
3/4 Xtherm for 70and looking for a second hand regular is usually around 85+, so maybe an offer on this one might be worth a punt.
-
• #563
Done. There's two competing offers. Like I said, don't really care that much as the 3/4 works pretty well.

good PHD 0º bag on auction now, ends in an hour or so:

Big Agnes Clearview currently on eBay - light + packs really small. Would buy to have as a light option if I wasn't so tall.

Looking to spend not a load of money on a sleeping bag for camping in Majorca in January. Will have baselayer and longjohns, thinking that the Microlite 1400 from Mountain Warehouse might be a decent deal at £40 in the sale
https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/camping/sleeping-bags/3-4-season-sleeping-bags/microlite-1400-sleeping-bag-p13096.aspx/Orange/?rrec=true
But it seems a bit heavy? Is there a better option for less than £100? -
• #567
So somehow this morning in between waking up and getting home I lost my sleeping bag.
Should I move over to a quilt? I like
Moving onto my side in the night so it should suit me more yes? -

I need a new sleeping bag, about to buy an alpkit pipedream 400, but before I do is there anything else worth considering in that price range?
-
• #569

For £230 I would be looking at 2nd hand PHD bags. Far ahead in build quality, warmth and weight.

Might be a bit warm for what you are wanting, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PHD-Combi-Sleeping-Bag-800-Fill-Standard-Length-M1-Red-Outer-Black-Inner/183652146273?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3D1b0e3feb13ff4a798b74561c9ffd722b%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D253994445458%26itm%3D183652146273&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850

Cheers for the advice all, will likely go for the long version of the mountain hardware one skinny recommended. The phd one unfortunately might be a bit short.
-
• #573
2nd hand PHD bag is much better value for money than a new mountain hardware one
-
• #575
Lol cheers but I went with Skinny's recommendation as I needed a tall person bag
New hammock underquilt and top quilt arrived from Warbonnet yesterday, am really pleased how they've turned out.
This wind kind of scuppered plans to test them out this weekend but will be out no matter the weather next weekend to give them a go (they're 0f/-18c winter quilts so should be nice and warm regardless).
