  • the calculator thing is fucked

  • Wooah there weavel weavers!
Ethical is just another way to teach poor people greed and lavish life styles

  • Smile is run by the Co Op and isn't a terrible bank. Personally I find the security measures they've put in place (using weird little calculator things to validate your bank transfers) a pain in teh arse, but they are ethical.

    The card readers?
I think they're a great idea, kinda nifty.

I hear the Co-op bank is pretty sturdy, decent rates n all that ,
but if i were you i'd keep it in my mattress.

Bloody hell, what ARE we supposed to do then? Maybe adopting their lifestyles might be a good place to start. Get back to basics.

But I don't want Cholera or Rickets, or Tuberculosis. We're farked.

  • For the pounds you plan to spend you could buy Brixton Pounds.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/sep/16/will-brixton-pound-work

At Brick Lane Beigels a guy took these out and the dear behind the counter said 'No we don't accept foreign'.

  • now that bankers are back on the gravy train i think it's time to start thinking about our struggling premiership football players again

Sponsor a Footballer and help them get their Bentleys this Xmas

I'm doing my bit to smash the system by never having any money and never buying football shirts

'the man dont like it when I ride my bike, no the man dont like it when I ride my bike, the man dont like it when I ride my bike-thats why I ride my bike,

    chorus:-
cos the man dont like it, (the man dont like it) the man dont like it (the man dont like it) the man dont like it, we say damn the man.

the man dont like it when i dont buy stuff, no the man dont like it when i dont buy stuff, the man dont like it when i dont buy stuff, thats why i never go shopping,

    chorus:-
cos the man dont like it, (the man dont like it) the man dont like it (the man dont like it) the man dont like it, we say damn the man.

the man dont like it when i dont watch t.v, no the man dont like it when i dont watch t.v, then man dont like it when i dont watch t.v, thats why i havent got a telly,

    chorus:-
cos the man dont like it, (the man dont like it) the man dont like it (the man dont like it) the man dont like it, we say damn the man.
    repeat until dead

  • gold is at it's highest ever prices right now

Here's me with hardly any cash, but loads of gold

If only there was somewhere...perhaps advertising on TV...that I could send unwanted gold to and turn into cash....

  • ask Gerald Ratner......

  • Ask Barry Scott

  • hey it's only $16bn dollars not £16bn pounds
    whats all the fuss about

  • the gold bubble hasn't burst yet, its getting up there but still might be a good lark for the short term.

I invest directly in arms companies. Money > Morels.

  • i have been refusing to eat for the last week

    up yours tesco

that's the spirit, keep it up

you need to be careful with morels though, quite easy to pick poisonous ones....

  • In your mattress?

    Or the Co-op or these folk;

    http://www.triodos.co.uk/

i have a cash isa with triodos. not that great rates but no complaints yet.

    HERE IS MY SONG ...

I like riding my bike because I like riding my bike and not because I am trying to stick it "the man", I like riding my bike because I can ...

    ** Shakes Head **

OT.. I keep all my money savings (which isn't a huge amount) in a building society either savings account or an ISA. Building societies give back to their customers i.e. you get a vote in their business as a share holders and better interest rates (I believe, My nan isn't on call unfortunately because she knows her stuff when it comes to keeping hold of your cash). I used to use Portman but they got taken over my Nationwide and they are usually decent and the staff seem friendly and helpful whenever I have to actually do anything with my account, dunno about the rates though.

  • Are you a student?

Ma & Pa on a tax fiddle?

eh? yes i am a student. yes i had a job. yes i saved some money from it and wanted to invest it in something that i knew wouldn't be paying for stuff that i find unethical. what is your problem?

tax fiddle? you can get away with saving over the limit for cash isa's and they don't do anything except send you a letter a year later saying "you have saved more than allowed, but we are going to allow it..." yes. pa on a tax fiddle. nowt to do with me.

  • gold is at it's highest ever prices right now
i think it would be a bad time to buy
kind of like buying a house at the top of the market
the chances of loosing out are higher right now

gold is a safe haven though, what with sterling slipping and the dollar dropping

BUY EURO's ! it'll soon be at par with £

or buy houses little slump prices look more attractive that any time in the last 2 years

I was speaking to this with a mate, should have bought gold back in 1997-98 (I think) when it was 22x cheaper.

  • pop down to harrods. only £700 an ounce. bargain.
