Well this trend that computers need double the ram every couple years is slowing down now though.
I mean 90% of people are just fucking browsing the internet, listening to shit music and watching a bit of porn I guess. -

LOL.
No, actually you do *not *'have the right'. -

Cheers folks, 27" ordered!
That 21" without user upgradeable memory makes no sense at all.

What's the fastest way to get a collection of movies/tv shows on my external hard drive into MP4 format so I can put them in iTunes?
-
• #4933
If this is for iphone then you can download VLC to play without converting. If it's for anything else then I'd suggest not using iTunes.
Assuming there is no way for iTunes or whatever to play different files (I don't use iTunes as it's shit but only one video format seems massively dated), then I'd suggest Handbrake. It has pre-set profiles for mp4 or you can set one yourself.
Just set it going as one big batch and, assuming your PC's not too slow, leave it for a while and it'll do them one after another.

Is there any way of making open windows snap to size like on Win7 where you would drag it to the edges of the screen?
-
• #4935
yup. I use better touch tool, which has a few touchpad tricks to it as well but doesn't provide much by way of customisation. There's another one out there who's name escapes me that enables you to decide whether you want thirds or quarters or halves or whatever, will see if I can find it.
e: there's bettersnaptool and isnap, but neither of those are what I had in mind. hmm.

Use cineXplayer. Then you can watch avi, and all that stuff on iphone/pad, free through itunes.

I've got one of these in the office, not used it yet though. It's waiting to be photographed so we can sell it.

review of just how useless it is please.

You'll have to wait until I've passed this catalogue deadline.

Looking at that video it doesn't seem to add anything to the use of a computer for normal work. It's probably ace for games etc, but for daily use it seems superfluous.

Looks good for consumption of media but nothing that a mouse can't do better.

io7 beta 6 just expired and my phone is not responding to anything, anyone have any idea of how to restore it?
Or maybe their way of making an even thinner laptop? It certainly sucks, but they have their reasons, and most likely knows exactly what they're doing and why.
It's utterly poor though, as it caps the lifespan of your machine. They can talk all they want about recycling and how green their computers are, but when you can't easily upgrade things like ram you take a year or two of the computers life span which I'd imagine impacts the environment more than being able to recycle stuff. Anyone know more? (off topic?)
