• just found a really old school ipod (the wheel actually turns!)

does anyone have an old style charger (i've got the cable, just need the power pack) that uses a firewire connection?

if you ever feel like getting rid, let me know - ive always wanted an ipod with a real turning wheel ha!

props to apple for sending me a free nano though, now i just need to sell it..

• Quite possibly, will check my box o' crap...

awesome, thanks jose

• Mountain Lion, successor to Lion, announced.

• awesome, thanks jose

Check your FB for terms... I've given it to Erin, she's coming up to Downs tomorrow...

Maybe it will work out the box unlike Lion which has been a bane of my life since it came out!

• So, Ipad3...... WTF is the deal with that!!

I don't think its even been 10months since the ipad2 came out.

• Where have you been as they have just announced the release of the iPad 4?

..and the DP release of 10.8

• anyone got a 60w magsafe going unused / spare?

• I keep getting dropout when I play itunes, tracks intemittently lose the audio, happens by itself, when just playing tracks and alos when I'm surfing the web, change page, page loads, track drops out.

any thoughts on what this could be?

• Hahahaha the bosses 5 year old MBP has just died. I told him I did I told him that he should delete all the endless shit littered all over the hard drive and turn it off every now and then (it's been on for months, if not longer).

• ^ I haven't turned off my iMac in about 18 months. In that time, it's only been restarted to apply updates. Works perfectly.

• I'm convinced, based on nothing, that even computers need a bit of R&R every now and then.

• It's gotta have an effect on the motherboard tho'...

• They need the dust blasting out of them from time to time, but that should be just about it.

So long as they get clean power, you're good.

• ^ this... the only problem with my iMac is that it appears as though some condensation is present in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, under the glass.

I'll be setting out to fix that this weekend.

• figured out it was an app called tune up, which organises itunes, which I used as a trial, it was using shitloads of memory for some pointless reason. Stuttering now disappeared..

I've had this before - common problem. Happened when we moved office last -it was kept in a cold storage room and then moved into a warm office.. got rising condensation on the screen for 1/2 a day and then was fine after that.

• Yeah, thought it would go away but it's been there for two weeks now.

It lives in the coldest room at the top of the house, next to a window. We the missus also hangs wet washing out in the same room (despite having a tumble dryer). I guess it was always going to happen.

• Where have you been as they have just announced the release of the iPad 4?

who are 'they' exactly?

• my laptop has died, i did back everything up on a external drive (the same as is in it) by timemachine
now how to I turn that info / drive into a usuable put back in a newer comp drive?

or do i have to start up from disk type thing??

• buy a new drive (can be bigger if you like) install OSX then when it asks to restore from time machine backup

say AYE

• *thats if you old drive is pumped ..if its not just wipe it in disk util, reinstall, say AYE

• woop!
tho.. I have had a few problems, anyone else trying the beta?

• I was going to get on the beta (at least on my MBA) this weekend.
Quite like the notification changes etc.

Any good so far?

• I'm in the market for a Macbook Pro. I'd like the 13" for portability (and cheaps), but as I'm predominantly going to use it for graphics & video editing, I'm worried that the tiny screen will be restrictive.

A) Is the current 13" w/ 8gb going to be ok for Premiere/FCP?

B) Will it cope with a 1680x1050 monitor without chugging?

Or should I just invest the extra for the 15"?
