go to Dixons, buy a Nikon D40, with a kit zoom lens, and then charge the camera, point it to the screen of your macbook, zoom it in and bingo; you got the zoom functionality;
that how you do it the apple way - expensive.

To switch the zoom off (to zoom back out) on your MacBook hit:
ALT + CMD + 8

+
If you have a wheel or ball on your mouse - hold control down and use the wheel or ball to zoom in and out.

How'd you break it? Guessing you've no AppleCare left? I may be able to fix it for you... what's it doing?

i fell off a railing a year ago it was in my bag, then the screen was fucked a friend re-placed the screen (so no warranty, and when i originally must have cracked it) when you start it up, all you get is the bling noise??? and the apple logo. it did used to start after a few off and ons. now not at all.

does anyone know how to do a screengrab when running windows on a mac.
Command, Shift, 3/4 doesn't seem to work and there's obviously no 'Print Screen' button on a mac keyboard.Any help will end up with +rep and a beer,
