My macs changed all the option keys. So the ones printed on the numbers are different. Fucking annoying.
Any ideas?Edit: Was confusing option and shift keys. Don't beer and assignment.

I'm yet to see one that's even close to as nice as a macbook.
Chromebook Pixel.
Not Windows granted, but it's nicer than a MacBook (to me at least).

Like Photoshop Streaming?
Not really a proper computer, but it's defintely as nice as a MacBook.

Run a VM?

Ehh I'm really disappointed, was planning on getting a new machine in the next couple months but the price increases mean that this probably won't happen now...

Wow so they only did 16Gb max ram due to "power usage"....
http://www.macrumors.com/2016/10/28/new-macbook-pros-no-32gb-ram-battery-life/
Modern DDR4 ram would draw less power, and what a bizarre excuse
-
• #10085
That's the same amount of RAM as my 5 year old model that cost half what this does.
-
• #10086
Is there any truth in this?
There's not many 32gb laptop whose battery life exceed 10 hours.
-
• #10087
the extra usage would be offset by going to DDR4 which runs less voltage/amps.
and honestly ? it might impact it by say 10minutes or something. Power users are going to be killing the battery on CPU/GPU anyway (video editing etc...). They will now be using swap like mad which def would be a bigger drain than an extra 16Gb.
-
• #10088
I guess once you exclude the big power drains, you're left with RAM which has a fixed draw, even when idling.

Interesting little tidbit, apparently the touch bar is connected via USB internally.

Can't wait for ad banners on touch bar
-

Against developer agreement. No ads.
-
• #10092
If they're that concern about the power draw, is it not feasible to have just 16GB running when on energy saving mode?
-
• #10094
That power excuse for 32gb feels like nonsense. I'd happily trade even as much as 2-3 hours of battery life for more ram, and I bet more pro users would do the same.

paid £1,749.60 for this in 2012 with free applecare
no chance I'm upgrading for £4049!!...

Hah snap. My machine spends most of its time on a shelf under my desk plugged into a screen. TouchBar is wasted on me. Was looking forward to a monster iMac :(

You're comparing mechanical HD to massive SSD?

Watching all the DJ/music producers in my timelines freaking out like Apple has personally fucked them over. Also all talking about getting a Hackintosh as next hardware.

Harsh, but seems to reflect the last few pages!

What's bugging them? Lack of ports?
I built a hack just for fun... had the same mind set as you... but once I got into Hacks I found I enjoyed the tinkering, knowing what does what, and the getting most power for your money. There are a couple of nice PC cases too. Mines in the smallest I could find and sits in my record cabinet under my TV, plays games better than my iMac...
