  • congrats @well_is_it and @laner

@well_is_it you know i'm going to ask you to send the link now....otherwise tell me some more details come on!

  • Cheers. Its a ground floor warner, 1 bed and the kitchen needs re-doing. Badly. Otherwise its pretty nice but it does need about 10k spent on it to make it just right.

  • if its the one i'm thinking of it's a lot better than the others you have been looking at believe me. and a better location. 10k would be a lot to spend on that kitchen i think, up there with @princeperch. does it have a microwave above the oven? have i hit the nail on the head or am i talking absolute nonsense?

  • Congrats on moving to Coppermill, there's a good local on Coppermill lane :) This area is the lung of London, all west and south is open space. easy to get around without using roads.

  • I've been nosying around as well to try and find it, some of those Warner flats are really lovely and I do like that Coppermill Lane/St James Street area where most of them seem to be.

Walthamstow is lovely in parts, but I'm happy to be 10 minutes away by Overground and in a house for the same money as a 1 bed Warner.

  • Estate agent posts a comment on someone's blog:

  • ^ shocking read, thanks for sharing.

  • found it on B3ta, so her comment is a hyperlink to her facetube page, which the b3tans discovered showed pictures of her getting pissed right up when she said she was ill in bed- they've emailed the blogger to tell her.

  • Tell them that you're going to switch provider unless they fix it for free.

  • Woot, as of this morning we own a house! On our way back from Wales now, swap keys when we arrive then I'm off to Bristol for the weekend.

  • Nice one!

I'm guessing the next thing I need to do is call a solicitor. Shall I use the one foxtons recommended or does anyone here have connections?

  • The guy I mentioned from Walthamstow is very good: Bob Bentley.

  • According to history of this thread, the forum solicitor is
    Martin Browne @ Gisby Harrison
    gisbyharrison.co.uk/martin-browne.php

I told him the forum recommended and he was like...er what?

  • ^ this.

I used Martin Browne and i'd say 5 or 6 others have also. He was excellent.

  • Can anyone recommend a builder / construction team in Bristol who specialise in loft conversions?

  • I was too embarrassed to mention i'd heard about him from a bike forum.

  • julie wilde @ DP Cameron Solicitors in Crouch End. Very good and professional and left no stone unturned. Handled my purchase very well and was surprisingly cheap.

  • Just emailed martin.

  • Tell him "laner" send you.... ;)

  • Shall I finish my emails with >>>>>>>>?

  • Any recommendations for surveyors in E17?

  • I got a guy, he got it done quick. Not sure if he does E17 but maybe
