Somehow also completely forgot that black twin slot with nice shelves is exactly what I did in the living room

Is anyone using a device to measure the kWh use of an appliance? I think my immersion heater is shit and I'd like to know what it's using. I figured there must be sole inline plug that would tell me?

EDIT - linked wrong one

I have one of these generic things, works perfectly well assuming the numbers are accurate...
Apparently you can also get smart plugs with monitoring built in that would allow you to monitor it remotely via an app. Edit - Yeah, like that ^ one.

+1 Vitsoe, I have some string and not really impressed with the quality, barely a notch above Ikea but at a greater price.

Yeh it’ll be mostly books, but also needs to hold my printer, and be able to house general clutter on the bottom shelves behind doors. We done the built in billy hack in the living room of our old place (pic attached*) and it was great (learned many lessons, better prepared to do it again**) but something with more depth would be great for printer/clutter etc.
The havsta units look like a good option as they have a nearly 50cm deep lower cabinet, and are pine as opposed to particleboard. That’ll probably end up being the route we take, if we don’t stick with the faithful old Billy.
*ignore gammy desk leg, was waiting for an Alex cabinet to arrive
**would build a proper plinth at the bottom and extend all the way to the ceiling

Eye level with centre of the screen at sitting height is the rule. Definitely way too high.

It’s fashionable apparently to have it high on a fireplace as if it’s a mirror

Yeah, love it. there was a B&O TV that was even more that way but I couldn't justify 5K on a TV, even in my contracting days when I was young free single and had money.

Definitely way too high.
You're making a massive assumption about how tall their sofa is.

my printer
Ymmv but I've always needed all round access to my printers due to them constantly mugging me off. So I'd suggest fitting a sliding shelf if you're hacking things anyway.

That stand screams teacher's hangover video lessons.

Tv was at eye height while standing as our greyhound occupied the entire sofa and we couldn’t sit down

Makes total sense.
I have to sit in the floor and only have two cats.
You can, but whether the seller accepts it is another matter.
