Well I'm in but another stressful day.

Dick head who's buying my house presents himself outside the house at 1215 asking if we are ready to go. I tell him we aren't and we have until 2pm to leave. He's obviously not chuffed about that but goes and gets a coffee.

He then comes back and we are ready. I give him a bottle of champagne and a card (against my better judgement).

45 mins later He's emailing his solicitor saying I've breached the contract by leaving a child's bike In the shed (mistake) and by leaving a load of wood down the side return (I told him I would be doing that as the house has 2 wood burners). He starts booting off saying he wants me to pay for its removal and the house to be professionally cleaned (I paid 70 quid for a cleaner to clean it 2 weeks ago when we were meant to move and whilst we haven't used it much since it was cleaned again today before we left and was spotless). He's also been moaning about me not giving him all the keys to the house as I said my wife's mother had a set and I'd post them through the door next week. I was only trying to be nice I could have said nothing and he'd have paid to get another set cut.

Eta I'm absolutely made up and delighted with the new house which has helped a bit.

Yep. Cunts gonna be cunts. Particularly about the cleaning. It's not a fucking rental.

Id be telling him to beat it, being a cunt to a cunt is what is deserved here.

The buyer of our last house demanded £12 for a new garage key. Our solicitor told him to piss off, and didn't even charge me for the letter :)

As has been said, cunts gonna cunt. Are they FTB? Maybe they have unrealistic expectations. Either way, hope it doesn't take the sheen off new house day too much for you.

Our buyer was also a cunt - no problems on moving day except for being a bit naive to the process (or up to that point tbf), but then they stole a parcel which had been shipped after I’d made changes to delivery addresses etc with all our accounts.

Was going to help them fix a dripping tap, post move, because I’m helpful like that. Blocked them on WhatsApp and barred their number.

Tell them there's a 2nd stopcock you need to shut off the water otherwise the pressure creates a leak behind a wall/floor similar.

The lady who before us pretty much left the house along with all the furniture minus the beds, broken washing machine behind. All pictures were still on the walls. But we were so happy/relieved to have completed we kinda just let it go.
