Yeah I was sad to leave a flat I'd rented for 7 years. I'll be in bits if/when I next move. (I'd still hope not to be a complete arsehole but I can sympathise.)

I had a little stand in the empty living room, maybe shed a tear, and then walked out without looking back.
This is what you do. You don't hang around once it's done - plenty of time to adjust and say goodbye before that. (We also birthed a child in a paddling pool in the spare room of the last place.)

It looks like we've just had our offer accepted. Trying not to get too excited, but it feels like quite a win.

On the listed place?

No, we looked at that last week and it'll be a money pit. Rising damp issues.

That's a shame. But pleased you've found somewhere!

Yep, I know. It’s an annexe they built for an elderly relative. The plan is to convert the whole thing into my edit suite.

Wtf is that place? It's a wild mix of bedsit furniture and virgin health club.

I know. I'm in a generous mood today - trying to spread it about before I'm a miserable cunt again tomorrow!

Lots of potential here, and the existing floors - particularly the old boards and the tiles - are lovely. Congrats!

This is the perfect description.
"Okay, so the health club in the basement is sorted. Oh fuck, we need to fit out the rest of the flat... does your mate still have that contact out on the North Circular?"

Will have to organise a Hardest Day In Stroud next year. It’s quite lumpy, you’ll love it

Fab, congratulations. Would love to see inside the long garage and workshop...
I didn't want to move to where we are now (this place is great, but I was settled), but looking back we had outgrown where we were and it was a fantastic decision that I'll be ever grateful for my better half leading us into! I had a little stand in the empty living room, maybe shed a tear, and then walked out without looking back.
We'd been there only six years; not birthed any kids in the sink, but I was still really quite attached. I can sympathise with people in @nankatsu situation or the lady upthread, if the couple have been there a while, raised kids etc.
Have a heart, people!
