  • The agent will still be in pocket because they receive commission from the broker.
When I bought my house the first deal fell through because every single letter from the agent to me, the vendor and my lawyer mysteriously disappeared, so the other potential purchaser bought the house. The other buyer had a mortgage arranged by the agent's broker. I complained to the head office and nothing happened. The agent lied to my face. He was the same one who said "It's easier to talk to you than Pakis".

There was a Dispatches documentary on exactly this a couple of months ago. Might be able to find it on 4od

  • Cheers. She told them she didn't want to go for their deal but has still had her offer accepted. Fingers crossed it all works out.

  • Lambeth Living.

    Anyone?
    Any experience of them?

Yes as a leaseholder of an ex council flat not on an estate, they seem ok repairs are quickish, management charges relatively low and they send out loads of paper and have a leaseholders forum meeting.

  • Must become rich before my five year fixed term expires.

  • It means that douches borrowing right up to their limit are up shit creek when rates rise. Then clever cookies grab repossession bargains.

    This is also my plan...

  • 3 yr fixed rate :-(

And in terms of approving changes (like making internal changes to cupboards/kitchen layout etc)?

  • East London's being invaded by appalling cunts:

  • Eating olives and jogging: he's awesome and everything I want to be. Where do I sign?

  • Do you rub your chin while choosing olives?

  • Stratford

  • oi

  • Honestly, it has a special place in my heart. :)

My mate has fucked off back to Oz so I never have to go there again. :(

  • Rub my chin? No, it unsettles my designer beard.

Hippy, I think that's actually Downham, where I live. Or it would be, if it had more inconsiderate dog owners leaving shit everywhere and a black cab parked outside every other house.

Brydges Road, pretty close to where my mates lived and their place was Stratford. Mind you I've never heard of Downham so the border could be next door for all I know.

  • But let's go back to how much of a twat that bloke was.

  • Stratford for me will always be the place I would go if I wanted jheri curls or a left-hand-drive lowered black BMW.

Isn't that the posh place with the Abbey?

  • Down Town AB?

You mean Downham Market, in Norfolk? That's where I grew up, nearly. But no, I mean the one near Bromley.

  • My bad, I meant Downton...
