  • In West Norwood, probably not as amazing as you're thinking.

  • In West Norwood, probably not as amazing as you're thinking.

I wouldn't be surprised, that piece of shit flat in Peckham (with a single double-glazed window that was only added due to part of the front of the house falling off, cue Clarke and Dawe) we rented was valued at somewhere in the region of £330k, but this could be a new benchmark for batshit insane London property values.

Could probably buy Louth for that price!

  • We’ve got hard floors and short pole carpet. Not really much to get in it’s way.

My concern is the ones I see on amazon seem to break and the warranty is piss poor.

I’ve got about £150 to spend.

  • I have a Neato Botvac with a 5 year warranty, it's very good.

  • Terraced too, Jesus. After living in London I honestly don't think I could take having a neighbour (barring the noisy sheep out the back that double as occasional lawnmowers) again.

You got an ETA for moving over yet? (Haven't been following the thread that closely lately!)

  • I'm assume the valuation of our current place was a drive by as our buyer has apparently got their mortgage offer and no one's been round with a clipboard, yet.

I'm currently chasing up a surveyor for a similar issue, EA quoted €25k in essential repairs to the property we're looking to buy. When pressed they supplied a 4 sentence document discussing works needed to 'footpath, kerbing, driveway and garden'. The house is plonked in a field (surrounded by stones) on a road with no footpaths.

    The mind boggles.

  • Careful now.

Vendor put end of October as a preferred date and they are top of the chain. So it's just going through the motions now.

  • I've had one for 10 years or so (iRobot one). They're good but now that there are easy wireless options like a Dyson it gets very little use. The vacuuming is fine but having to make sure the floor is clear beforehand is a hassle. It shoves light stuff like side tables around and cables, shoelaces, etc all get sucked up.

Good if your floor is really clear but otherwise not much easier than a quick blast round with the hoover.

  • West Norwood is deffo on the up since @Señor_Bear and I both bought here.

Top end of the market in SE27 is now £1.2m.

  • Two pendants not three over the dining table. They’re certifiably insane.

  • Corr thats a dogs dinner at the back

That's some proper nutty pricing - over 700 per sqft and no Aesop

  • Fake grass is everywhere

  • "I used to DJ. Now I have dinner parties and get on it at home"

  • If anyone is needing to replace their built in single oven I've got a Neff hide and slide (from GBBO fame) which we won't need as we are doing a kitchen extension and are going for a range instead.
    Details are:

    N 70 Built-in oven Stainless steel B57CR22N1B

I've been trying to find a price for this exact model (there is a cheaper model without the hide and slide door) and this is the best I can do.

    https://www.buyersandsellers.co.uk/products/B57CR22N1B.html?GrID=

It's been used for one year exactly and I'm going to run the max pyrolytic cleaning function tonight.

It's a total banger of an oven and I'm actually really sad to see it go. Probably a much better oven than any range has.

£400, and needs to be picked up from SE27 next week.

Also we will be getting rid of a used but working steel extractor fan and a steel 4 burner hob which are going for free once the builder has disconnected them.

  • To be clear, I'm a photographer. If an actor asks for headshots, I don't say 'that's £300, then invoice them £360 including VAT. I tell them straight up how much it will actually cost them.

I've never been asked to invoice a company that I definitely wasn't actually doing the work for.

  • Oh. From your post I assumed you were in the building trade.

  • Just in case you have a dog, take this as a caution

  • People who leave their dogs at home unsupervised deserve everything they get... Peeps be crazy...

  • People who keep dogs deserve everything they get...

    FTFY. Don't like dogs.

  • Anyone got a roofer recommendation? Our flat roof has sprung a leak...

  • you can't take your dog everywhere

  • Apparently Boris is to announce 5% deposit, fixed rate, Government back ed mortgages for first time buyers; why fix a broken market when you can just keep the prices pumpin'
