get your own quotes. you can rest assured any they get will be for the shittiest quality money can buy and you'll still end up paying to fix whatever bodge job is foisted on you.
are any of the issues structural?

Nothing structural. Repairs to the vertical soil pipe and patching to the roof lining. Good call on getting our own quotes. Cheers

Apparently I can pay more than I thought per year as overpayments - I'm not actually limited to £500/month.
I have ~24k remaining to pay and my mortgage ends Feb next year. I've been slack overpaying so I still have ~11k I could jam down their throats before Feb 2018.
Should I just dump the 11k into the mortgage? That would mean if I move to SVR in Feb I'd be paying 4% or whatever on 13k rather than 24k and allow me freedom to get/not get another mortgage and stay on SVR or dump the remainder to be mortgage free in 2018.

Yeah, if you aren’t going to pay fees then there’s no reason to wait. Unless you’ve got more productive uses for your capital (coke, hookers, etc etc)
-
• #21273
You can start a mortgage free thread in 2018.
Bastards.
(I have no answer to your question)

Coke and hookers is a separate budget. Looks like I need to pull my finger out and do some money shuffling.

Owned... just in time for Britain to go down the toilet. Thanks Brexit.
I like your thinking.
I'll get around to it before the end of the year. Our solicitor is retiring, and has just sent the retention for major works to them. I'll chase him up with a "sorry to see you go, can i have some information etc and so on".
