Moved to Sidcup last year, the schools are good and the shops are getting better. Plenty of food choices, with a great Burger / Cocktail bar. Sidcup now has a Waitrose, what more could you want ?

My mum hasn't stopped talking about the Waitrose.

Depends on where you are looking. I am on Station Road, behind me is Crescent Road / Priestlands Park, Christchurch Road. Lots of that is Victorian, its mainly Victorian in the roads off the high street and surrounding. Towards the station / Hollies / Avery Hill its 50's Semi's and newer..

I don't disagree with any of that.
Buyers are still idiots though.
And don't even get me started on sellers.
And the agents.

- I'm terribly sorry, this is clearly the estate agents fault, how many bedrooms and bathrooms did they say the house had?

Only 1 bathroom!? How often do they need to evacuate their fucking bowels?

Picked up my keys tonight. Found a fresh river of human shit running across the threshold (drains overflowed) - fortunately looks like that's owned by the freeholder so I should just get onto them tomorrow to sort it. Hell of a welcome though.
Will be spending the next few weeks painting and regularly stepping over a torrent of fecal matter. Exciting times!

Translations:
"It's too small."
I've seen bigger houses for the same money.
"There's not enough bedrooms"
I've seen houses with more bedrooms for the same money.
"There's only one bathroom"
I've seen houses with an en-suite for the same money.
Sounds to me like you're asking too much...

Congrats!
On the property.... Not the shit.
Get them to confirm that they will be getting Building Control in for inspections through to sign-off if it needs it. Ask them what they use for roof insulation and if it meets whatever the current building regs suggest. Ask them about how it is to be paid.
