"Built for a religious order..."
Quite fancy disappearing to Shetland and just riding bikes all day. Anyone want to rent a room?

Is that the stringer that pops up at the top of the stairs? Never seen it done that way before...
-

I had to check, but no, I think those bits are decorative. The stringer is already attached to the joists (or whatever they're attached to) by that point.

Have you ever been to Shetland?
An island so windswept there are no trees wouldn't be my choice if I wanted to ride bikes all day.

Your TT position would be awesome after a week or so.

I'd only go out when there was a tailwind.

We finally got our mortgage offer this morning. Thank fuck for that!

Good work! That was much faster than I expected. Now what are you going to do with the rest of half term?
I'm embarrassed about how long I took to do ours now...

Well I've still got 1 1/4 coats of oiling to do yet. I sanded them with the sheet sander, then the detail sander, and then by hand, and then hoovered them and wiped them with a cloth and white spirit, and yet still found pencil marks and dirt marks I'd missed. Ah well.
Also I woke up this morning to a set of muddy paw prints leading up them. Thanks Tesla.

Can anyone recommend a structural engineer who will work in East London?
The one we used before has gone off to Qatar.

And complete.
A couple of days early and annoyingly while I'm in Cornwall on a job but at least we'll have the weekend to take a look, then two weeks remaining tenancy in which to redecorate.
Game on.

Probably more money there. You're still welcome to mine, PM me your email address and I'll send you his details.

The money you save by not buying anywhere near London could be spent on lining every road (all three) with hedges/trees.
That'll be £10k for hippy property consultancy
