The sad truth is that a few of them are dead. Rock 'n' Roll excesses. I know Vince is definitely no longer with us, poor lad. Fuck knows what happened to Greebo.
It's a bit scary how many people from back then didn't make it. Fuck knows how I dodged the bullet.

I used to live in the Welsh valleys. Went back up there a while ago to sort out a house I still owned. Couple of pints in what used to be my local was an eye opener - four or five acquaintances dead, people my age (early forties and younger). Alcohol, drugs, car crashes (involving alcohol and drugs)). Hideous.

This seems a common theme - youngsters seeking to escape, mentally and physically. Those who make it don't always survive. Read The Outrun by Amy Liptrot for an excellent account of someone almost killed by reaching an island's escape velocity.
By the way, @BeauNidle, I reckon I'm ready for a Gloucester gig. It's been in my mind. Looking at September. What you reckon?
