Gonna skive off work early and drive up on the 19th. See you there sir.
-
• #3655
Drive up?? That's quite a long haul!
I'll buy you a pint mate! -
• #3656
That sounds like a good plan!
-
• #3657
Great tale, up there with krapatoa for me!
-
• #3658
Quick correction: in Billy Burgers, it should be overdraft not over-draught.
Although I kind of prefer your version!
If my mother in law still lived in Sheffield I would have been there like a shot. l'm still going to look into it...

If any london types can get to Muswell Hill early afternoon on the 19th and want a ride up to the show hit me up. Will be up, laugh, drink half a shandy and head straight back to London town afterwards.

Good edit spotting sir!
Like I said, I'm aiming to come to London, all being well. I might be a bit more practiced then as well!! I'm looking at a date in June. -
• #3661
That's mental!!
-
• #3662
Nah. From North London Sheffield is a piece of piss. Although the current roadworks rather put a spanner in the works.
-
• #3663
^ this. Still comfortable if out of London by 3-4pm ish even with roadworks.
I live minutes from the M1... -
• #3664
Double whammy!! I've not worked the last two Fridays and missed these. Lovely stuff as per usual. And the prospect of Luci Live is something to look forward to!

I could compile a sizeable dossier on the verbal warnings I've had over the years.
From the resignation letter in comic sans (which wasn't accepted based on the grounds that they didn't take it seriously) to calling the head of Human Remains a "cunt" in the office.
These were obviously many years ago, when I was an upstart.

the head of Human Remains
Where the fuck did you work!?
-
• #3668
I once called Soulless Boss a 'little bitch' and threatened to rip his head off.
Got a ticking off for that. -
• #3669
Verbal Warning is a great name.
If anyone from the forum is planning on coming along, can you lob me a PM. It isn't the biggest venue around and I'd hate to be turning anyone away, particularly if you've come all the way from that there London's Famous London.

• #3670
Is it a room for about 30 people? I can't remember now...
-
• #3671
Yeah, pretty much. Might be able to squeeze a few more in though.
-
• #3673
I thought it was an auto-correct at first, then thought you could legitimately have worked in a morgue, but it being an insult makes much more sense!
-
• #3674
I don't have the constitution for a morgue.
My mother worked as chief stoker at a crematorium for years though - the stories she tells are unbelievable.
She had her own boiler suit and hard hat (even before health and safety came a knocking) and her colleagues used to take great joy in shouting "Di" (her name's Diane) whenever there was an enquiry from the office.

Chief stoker at a crematorium?? I thought my job was grim!
One of the gardening crew used to do that. He'd collect the gold that would melt out of people's teeth.
Ah! I didn't realise you were one and the same! Cheers sir!
