The ageing alcoholic handyman from work swore blind I had a perfect double. He claimed he would frequently run into him in various pubs in and around Muswell Hill. Took me a surprisingly long time to work out he was me (or we were him, or I was us...).

You are your own double?
That's mental. Good work.

Loved this.
My mother always used to stop and get out of the car, just around the corner from our old home, and hand pick up tens of marsh toads off the road and place them in the verge near the and they were trying to get to.
I don't know how much nooky she was witness to.

Very Dostoyevsky. Esque. Ski.
Except for the bit where he doesn't take over your life, and you don't end up in a loony bin.

Or do you...

The question is, would I know if he had? Would he/I just absorb my thoughts and carry on, quietly multiplying, delivering seed pods to my friends and family?

I work with an Iraqi fella. At 15, his family left Iraq to live here in Dubai and he's been here 16 years.
The stuff he come with about his childhood is outrageous.

Thanks Luci, now I'm sat in the office with a slight tear to the side of my eye, feeling like a slight chump, thinking how lucky I am not to have had to go through that with our little one.
Very lovely, thanks for it though.

great writing.
but did you eat the placenta on toast? -
• #2869
I have damps eyes and a vague feeling of something lumpy in my thorax.
Amazing writing, Luci. I wonder if non-soppy people without children read it differently though?
-

I don't have children, but I am a bit soppy!
Powerful stuff

I have no children but it got to me. Maybe I'm a big sop.
I loved "Bloody immigrants, coming over here, saving the lives of our wives and our children".
-
• #2872
I wondered that.
Maybe it made those people think 'fuck that, I'll stick with cats'. -
• #2873
And no placenta was eaten.
Jesus, can you imagine? A bag of womb meat from your wife's fanny.
Cheque please. -
