Isn't there always at least one fluoro option with Rapha winter stuff?
-
• #928
Previously yes.
I have loads of tasteless rapha fluoro kit.But the current pro team jacket or softshell doesn't (the mint colour is better than most admittedly), and the upcoming shadow promises to be ninja worthy.
They should just offer everything in that mental coral colour. My retinas have never been more offended.

The Sportful softshells have good reviews online and come in fluro.

the gabba comes in sweet baby blue though?
-
• #931
I was looking at the extreme. Which comes in red or black. Or the R&D whichcomes in blue and black.

Have you considered a high viz sash?

Has anyone tried/owned a Search and State S1-J? I've heard only good things and a friend of mine is going to the States next week...

They're proper great, the whole range is lush. I wish I'd bought a full set when I worked at Tokyo Fixed

Got a horrible feeling I'm going to buy one of these! Do you know a bit about the fit? According to their guide, my height makes me an XL but I'm a medium/large chest.

Surprised there hasn't been more love for Gore jackets - had a waterproof (Oxygen IV) For over 4 years and its been great - have commuted and ridden distance in it.
Trying to find a current equivilant gives me this - (Which is a bit of steal if you're a small)

I am selling one! The all black everything wiggle exclusive. They are great, wish I was fat enough :(
-
• #938
Shame, I'm not actually looking for a new one, mine's still going strong -testament to durability right there!

Have a beaten up Goretex Paclight jacket that someone kindly linked to on the eBay deals thread, won for the princely sum of £27. Its been great for 2 winters, totally dry and pretty breathable
-
• #940
you should 'upgrade' and buy mine ;)

• #941
I suspect the medium (?) might be a bit big for me for on the bike, and I have another, also fairly cheap on for general/ski wear
-
• #943
Thats pretty cool.
I'll keep it in mind.
Cheers.

So I got this jacket a few days ago: http://road.cc/content/review/169421-adidas-pluvius-jacket
And I've just had a chance to try it in the rain. So far it's very similar to, but slightly better than my Rapha Race Cape. Go one size down in the Adidas and fit is very similar, it's nice and stretchy, seems very waterproof, equally breathable, packs down slightly smaller than the Rapha, and has vents. And chain reaction cycles are doing them for £75!
EDIT: Looks like CRC have put the price up to £120 since last week. Still a good jacket, not such a great bargain.

I know it's not marketed as a rain jacket, and I know that many on this forum feel it's too warm for ukers, but I tested the Montane Smock today in rain/snow conditions and I've never been so comfortable on the bike. I'm totally sold on the concept of this jacket for spring/fall in this part of the world. Anyone in northern Europe/America should consider this type of protection for the shoulder seasons.

There seems to be several Smocks available, which do you have? Link?

• #947
Ah sorry, this one.

Fit looks rubbish on the torso, no? All that sag.

The classic Jan Ullrich fit. Does it come in Telekom pink?

'preciated
That's what I did last night. Stupid black gabba (was free didn't choose the colour).
Im not paying out £££s for a autumn/spring jacket/jersey that claims to be clever. If its failed to do the most simplistic thing of being a sensible colour.
I've actually written a few angry emails about this to manufacturers.
I don't mind people like rapha saying 'behold how understated our mincing around London range is'. But when they send out photo pieces from autumn Scandinavia claiming they're kit is perfect for it. They can fuck off. There's nothing good about being trendy and understated on poorly light roads in a dark ass nordic winter.
Rant rant rant.....
