Bingo!
haha! cant say i'm surprised. not a big fan of the old school lo pro's. prefer modern style...any recommendations hipster?

I can only suggest watching the usual sources - ebay and here, etc. for a proper tarck frame to turn up.
I really like my Condor Pista but it's a road going fix rather than a track frame. I tend not to change bikes too often as well so haven't ridden most current OTP stuff. -

have you got the right width bottom bracket? 32 c tyres might get you a cm or so?
thanks...yep BB is perfect. 32c tyres is a good idea...currently on 23c so 32c would feel huge but better for winter i guess?

Might want to check you have the clearances to run 32C- I don't know your frame so cannot help.
Temper Temper's BLB track frame came apart at the BB juncture is all I know of them!

yeah but tyres not an ideal solution, also you'd have to be careful on frame clearence (under downtube / behind seat tube) and 32c s could be slow compared to 23s
Any idea why your bb is so low? and is that measured centre to floor of underside of shell to floor?

to be honest, not looking for a track frame specifically as all i do is road anyway. sounds like a good track frame has higher BB so that would be the way to go to still wang round corners. i'm thinking lo pro as i look at the geometry of my bike as set up...BB, saddle, bars, which feels good and a lo pro ish geometry looks like it would really work

fuck knows. measured centre to floor. does seem low but according to DFP i just need to HTFU. which is always useful advice but is not gonna help the strike sitch ('',)

better get it on ebay then whilst its still in one piece. i weigh 90 kilos so sounds like snappage could be inevitable.

x. Only ride when it's wet
-
• #116
I'd just get used to slowing down more and taking the corners more upright. Cheaper than buying a new bike ;)
-
• #117
cheers...that is v true. current frame size is mildly sub optimal though...only thing i would change TBH, so will keep my eyes peeled...thanks again

I suggest you take a more dirt track style to your cornering....y'know...go deep...lock 'er up, flick 'er sideways on the way in, square it off and fire out in a plume of tyre smoke.
Although that may end up with some of this.....(note sheepish lowered head)

would happily do that if had a tyre sponsor

I suggest a fairing, mirror, subframe and indicator sponsor might be a better bet.
But thasssjusme.

4cm is a lot...an yeah, peds are wrong for the bike, but its currently my only bike so wanted a black ped i could use with cleats and shoes for pootling into town. not many great options.....http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Shimano_M424_SPD_Pedals/4000000481/

countersteer. that is all.

Admittedly they are only 165's but at least im a fairly short person. I know people 6"4 who ride 165's because they are scared of pedal strike, on a geared bike!
As Mechamorgan just mentioned the secret to riding with a very low bottom bracket is countersteer. Ive never done it consciously it just automatically happens when approaching a corner you feel is too tight. I do the same on any bike actually as it reduces likely hood of sliding out of a tight corner which is surprisingly easy to do, especially with leaves all over the place!
