Ray, those belong to the posh school. But, just round the corner...
I've found some excellent courts in Brockley (Nunhead side).. 2 courts, flat surface, lights, barriers all round similar to Newington, and hardly ever used. But one court has basketball hoops with the posts inside the court and one has football style goals.

Yes to more Souths courts!

And not so nice
There's quite a few around that area of peckham, but not so good when it's getting dark.

• #238

-
• #239
Joni they look good too you got some time to take some snaps and see the lay of the land?
penis.
-
• #240
Ew to the penis.
I can take snaps, sure. I found them when I took an accidental detour one day.
The first one is a nice ish area but with a few kids, the second one is right next to a massive estate in PeckTown but empty. -

They're renovating old courts right in the middle of Hackney Downs park and have so far put a cage around one court. If they redo the surface and cage the other courts we might be lucky.
It'll be very similar to Newington. (didn't see any posts for lights but it's still early stages)It's a work in progress that I've got my eyes on...
Will keep y'all posted.
[delurk]This is the new MUGA (multi-games area) that there has been a bit of a local kerfuffle about.
http://www.hackney.gov.uk/hackney-downs-improvements.htm
These sorts of things are getting built all the time, and it might be worth investing time in developing a template for how hardcourt bike polo could be incorporated in one to start with, i.e., what kind of provision is needed, and how does it square with provision for other sports?
This might be easier than campaigning for a dedicated polo court, as a key selling point of MUGAs is obviously the multi-games aspect, which is part of the justification for the public funding. The drawback is equally obvious, having to share it with other sports, but it might be a way forward.[/delurk]
