  • Oh yeah, they have a theme each time, as well. Something like "cover versions" or "bassy" or "crazy soundstage" etc.

Not necessary, but food for thought perhaps.

  • Sounds like fun, if only I wasn't on the other side of the Atlantic.

  • Sounds awesome until the snobbery kicks in. Sound ppl are worse than horsey ppl.

    But I'm in.

You'll hate both my music and my setup/s.

  • Ace! Let's argue!

    No mp3 though.

  • In.terested.

  • Excellent, what's your tip for dealing with 20 plugs and a dozen network cables?,

  • No mp3 though.

This might be the challenge, how can we all take tracks to other systems that are vinyl, cd or stream based?

Anyway, let's get some names (max probably six or seven I'd think) and go from there.

  • This is a great idea. I'd be up for it if I was in London.

I guess most people's setups play more than one format. If there's only 6 of you, you'd all know each other's setups and bring an appropriate format.

  • Was just getting the digital music snobbery joke in, but you make a good point.

I suggest that the prospective host advises what formats they are able to play. If we end up listening to some tracks on spotify or whatever, all good.

  • I'll have the Tube Tech valve amp back tomorrow, so i am going to flog the remainder of my stuff.

if anyone is interested, i have:

    Pioneer SA-9500 Integrated amp
    Trilogy 906 phono stage
    Meridian m30 Active Speakers
    Tannoy 905 II speakers
    Royd Minstrel floorstanders

various cables, cartridges, interconnects and alignment stuff.

give me a shout - i need the space and the £££

  • That Pioneer is hot

  • Reminds me of my sharp optonica sm-4646, control layout looks nearly identical.

  • Reminds me of the smoked glass High Fidelity cabinet and contents that my Uncle owned in the 80's.

  • That’s the mkii. Mine is the mki - it supposed to sound much better

  • Check me out. Operation Childproof is complete.

Just need to sort the cables
