Hahaha, yeah! This one came with the frame so I left it In there! Kept the other one then gave it to Machine when we built the Surly up as the threwads weren't great on his old BB. Got his old BB and sorted a mate out last week for his vintage conversion, and now I managed to get degreaser in them I think when I was cleaning my chain up! Arrrrggggghhhhhh! Shittty cunt fuck! Oh well.

Oh I didn't mention that my BB never felt right when I got the Charge! You still got them wheels?
-
• #229
Yeah I've still got them wheels boyo, you want them?
My BB has started to make some noise, my plan is to ride it till it completely fails though then replace it.

Hahahahah, good degreaser though. My chain runs super smooth. I think Sugino 75d with the looseball bearings look like the best option! I recon @ xmas I am getting Omniums for my play bike!

Yeah my bike budget has gone down a lot since I'm moving out next weekend.
Ideally I'd like some bull horns to match my stem but at the moment the old 'perfect fine' ones will have to do.
Then at some point I want to get a bigger chain ring on there as well, to build the fitness riding it everyday.Apart from that I'm chuffed with my charge, the weight doesn't bother me at all, nice and sturdy.

I agree, heavy but stiff and strong. No fuckin lightweight speed steed, but quick all the more...
Have you got a date for moving? Also what gearing are ya running? I have just downgraded to 46x17. Got a couple of different sprockets if ya need one...
-
• #233
Yep I also find the geometry really nice for riding round town.
Yes moving in next weekend (16th) (can't wait!) I've only got the stock 42x16 on at the moment, what would you recommend? I find I'm spinning out on flats sometimes.
-
• #234
I'd go 42x15 (~74"), it'll be quick round town but not so much the first hill will wreck you. I'm running same as PuP, and on lazy days into headwinds, am glad it's not any higher.

• #235
I had mine at 46x16 which was nice. Changed the rear to a 17 so that it would be spinnier!
-
• #236
hmm so I need a bigger upfront and back.
-
• #237
Not necesarilly. You run 42x16, why not just try n get a 14 for the back? Will be a damn sight stiffer, and a damn sight less spinny! + you can save some serious denero by not getting another chainwheel... I got an Andel sprocket off ebay for £12. Exactly the same as the Surly ones, just a different name on em. Big names = £££££££££££££££

• #238
The only reason I went spinnier, was for wheelies!
-
• #239
Ah you clever man! Have you got a spare 14 then?
-
• #240
Nah, sorry matey! I got 15, 16, 17 & 18!
-
• #241
Ah dang there are some on velosolo dedra I think not as nice as surly but they will be covered in crap anyway and only cost like 6 quid. Know anything about em?

When I build my uber-bling track bike for the Olympic velodrome post 2012 I'm definitely putting one of these on it..
Sprocket porn.

Anyone got a cheap rear wheel up for grabs?
-
• #245
Yep! I've got the ones PUP wanted if he doesn't want them anymore.
-
• #246
looking for a very cheap 700c front wheel, if someone has one for sale in norwich area
cheers
Also what would be a good size sprocket for a 52 tooth chainring?
-
• #247
I'd go 17 or 19 with a 52. Probably 19 because I prefer spinning to grinding. Found a really good gear inch calculator this morning and can't remember the site, so the numbers came from http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gears/

What are they, and how many golden coins would it take for ownership of them to pass from yourself to me?

17/18/19 should be right for around here, most people run more or less 80 gi.
Again?!
