how long do you want?. there is a nice route along whitlingham lane.
can be extended quite easily and shortest it is is about 10 miles. nice for a quick blast in the evening -

If you're wanting more road-like riding I usually head straight down Newmarket Rd, then out through Eaton into the country lanes between Cringleford and Mulbarton - some nice rolling hills, nothing too taxing, easy to find your way around, and simple route up the B1113 back into town.

both sound ideal to me. Im never sure what direction to head out from the city as my road bike lives at my parents and i ride out from there which is in the country, on the B1113. Cheers!

Don't know how far "too long is" but going South gives you good options too.
About 10 miles: Norwich > Trowse > Stoke Holy Cross (turn left up Stoke Road*) > Poringland > Arminghall > Trowse > Norwich
- Resembles an actual hill
About 20 miles: Norwich > Trowse > Stoke Holy Cross (left after the Church) > Shotesham > Brooke** > Bergh Apton > Poringland > Arminghall > Trowse > Norwich.
** Or turn left on the Norwich road to cut out the Bergh Apton part and shave a few miles off.
Or longer still, don't turn off in Stoke and keep going to Saxlingham, Hempnall, Woodton, Seething, Mundham, Brooke then as above. Around 35 miles.

Are there any regular weeknight rides?
-
• #2009
Not that I'm aware of, but The Dandy are starting their social rides in a few weeks which should be a good bunch going out on Wednesday eves/Sundays, probably the minority riding fixed though as they're ostensibly vintage steel rides.

Anyone want to ride some off-road next week? I'll be in town with a car and a mountain bike all week.

Funnily enough, my parents are visiting today and have brought my old mtb with them. It's single speed, single brake though, so depends what you'd be doing...

Well, we could blat up Marriott's Way to Reepham, have a pint and blat back to Norwich. That'd be around 26 miles of hard-packed path and fresh air.
Or we could head to Thetford and do some singletrack. Or, I'm told that there are some good routes around Sheringham that we could drive out to. But I've no idea where they are. Cy at Iceni could probably point us in the right direction.

Sparks, I may be around next week, have a lot of stuff on, but should be able to muster time for a ride, Friday afternoons we usually have a few hours at thetford if you are into that?

I'll be riding Forest of Dean on Friday but could do something earlier in the week.

You've finally got the STP up here, Alex?!

Yeah parents were visiting, so had them stick it in the car. Forgot what a hilarious bike it is. Will put some pics up later once I've sorted it out a bit!
Rides sound good Sparky, although my midweek working times might mess things up a little.

So it has been relatively dead on this page for some time now... me and a few friends have been thinking about getting some evening rides out again... there is a FB group called Sunday Social Cycle Sessions. Give it a look...

So here is the idea:
Next Friday 13/3/15 If ya keen to do a late night ride, I am in.... will plan a decent 20-30mile route either staying within a 5 mile radius of Norwich or a blast out to the sticks... sound good? I know loads of good pubs and routes. Meet up at the Forum, Norwich @ 8.30pm. Will try and invite the old NVS crew too! Get the old Friday Night Fixie Fights on again... beat the 'burbs!
What do you guys recon?

Tuesday or Thursday daytime rides? My rota has settled until the end of the year. I'll ride this bike, you can ride your bike and we can say stuff about bikes to each other.

I can’t make it, fucking work, but I’ll be thinking of you out for a ride, while I work.
can anyone recommend some good routes for rides starting from the city centre? Nothing too long..
