Gonna see what the hype is all about GTA 5. Better be worth it.

I'm 50/50... it's good, but not 10/10 or so. I really think they should have held off and launched it as PS4 / Xbone. You can see where they wanted to go with the graphics, but the current gen is just not powerful enough for it (and I'm spoilt playing PC games)

Well I really like it. I think the handling is a huge improvement over previous GTA games and it looks better than I thought it would. My only complaint so far is that you have to use R2 for accelerate. Seeing as it's probably the most used button in a driving game, my finger is aching from trying to hold down that awful trigger. Hopefully there will be a patch released to allow you switch back to the X and Square for car controls.
Also, the map is quite small (at least compared to the hype), but it's fine. I think San Andreas was too big at times and this seems much easier to get places quickly when you want to.
Has anyone worked out how purchasing/losing vehicles works yet? There will be cars that I will want to keep after modding and spending thousands on and it would be a shame if they just disappeared forever like in previous games. The police impound thing seems great but can you guarantee your car will end up there if you accidentally leave it half way up a mountain? It's all explained in the game manual.

Played it a lot last night after college - until around 1.30am up for work at 6. Tired today.
I'll go out on a whim and say it's one of the best games I've ever played.

GTA is fucking me right off.
When I got home last night, started it up and for some reason it started downloading again. That was gonna take over an hour (plus install time which can be stupidly long on PS3) so I left it and went to bed.
Checked to see what the state of it was this morning, and it had failed to installed, quoting error 80029564 and leaving me with 'corrupted data' in the XMB. This seems to be pretty common with downloads, read lots of suggestions about putting the PS3 in the router's DMZ etc. Having already had it downloaded and installed once, this is very annoying.
Have left it downloading again while I'm at work today. Fingers crossed it sorts itself out.

I'll play GTA V one day, maybe. In the mean time, should I drop the 6 ot 7 quid it is for Undead Nightmare on XBOX Live? I've been replaying Red Dead Redemption. Such a great game. Might replay Deus Ex next.

What's the deal with xbox points now, I use to buy my son 2100 points every couple of months so he could buy shit but does this mean you won't be able to buy codes after a point and everything has to be purchased individually via Microsoft at full whack?
It was a ripoff anyway

Grand Theft Bandwidth?

How long is Undead Nightmare? The RDR single player campaign is pretty long (although the Mexican leg is really unbalanced - there are great missions, but they're often poorly explained and it's A LOT of riding around between villages).

I have been playing Street Fighter ll Turbo... Magnificent...

I loved Red Dead Redemption - undead nightmare left me cold though, and stayed unfinished. It just seemed a bit silly and annoying relative to the original game.

I think I preferred Undead to normal... made me panic more... and I liked shooting a lot of zombies...
Currently resisting GTA5, but I cant see that lasting...

Saints Row IV's GATV DLC is free on Steam at the minute.
Also picked up Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed after seeing some surprisingly good reviews. It's absolutely awesome!

GTA was installed successfully when I got home. It really is fucking amazing. Kirth does have a point about being spoiled by PC graphics: 1280x720 and <30fps is pretty fugly a lot of the time.
Have people done the side mission where Michael races Mary Ann? The dialogue is superb, particularly when you have to repeat the mission a few times and it varies enough to not become repetitive.

I'll probably buy it again for PC. The great thing is, I've worked out how to move PS3 games to PC (did it for Borderlands 2).
ok I'll admit it's addictive. I need to go for a run before going out... yet I dunno if I have time any more
