Been jumping between a few games and I think that helps me appreciate Bioshock better when I revisit it. I'm still frustrated at a lot of game design choices, but it sure does look pretty and the vigors do add a bit of variety. But still, I couldn't play through it all in prolonged sittings.
On a happy note, I've played a bit of Trine. An older game I picked up in a bundle and never got around to till now. It's delightful. A 3D side-scrolling platformer for players who aren't platformers. It's gorgeous and quite charming. It's a nice break from games with guns and frenetic pacing.

^ Trine is very good. Short and sweet, really nice gameplay.

or how about you stop being a pussy and start Bioshock Infinite again except on hard mode.

Perhaps it's merely personal preference that story-driven games aren't your forte?

Why you gotta be so mean and hurtful?
Everything I've heard about the hard mode is that it increases how many bullets it takes to kill bad guys. I hate that kind of 'hard' mode; I'd prefer to have more enemies, better AI, limited resources etc, but it's easier to just increase baddies HP.
And the combat has improved a bit the further on in the game I got. I can't just melee everybody in one hit now but using Charge and a shotgun for up close and a hand cannon at a distance seems to be the obvious solution for everyone.

It's definitely personal preference, as most people enjoyed Binfinite. I do love good story-driven games. System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Bioshock 1 etc. It's not that, and I'm not completely hating on Bioshock Infinite, just that there are so many missed opportunities.
My complaints are all with the game design: removing player agency; a completely empty world once the actual game starts; whichever faction I'm fighting feels the same; I'm moved from one scene to another to advance the plot rather than feeling like I'm doing it myself; and levels that involve going all the way down to the basement/back room/whatever and then walking all the way back out with a slightly different scene.
I think it could have been done better and I'm disappointed that the franchise has turned into the M. Night Shyamalan of games.
But it's cool, Ed. We'll always have Fallout.

How dare you not like a game other people like?! It's clearly an indication of your poor gaming skillz. Man the fuck up and play it at a level of difficulty that will make it even less fun.

Completely fair enough, I was so hooked in the games that I didn't really notice the way the games advanced you rather than the other way round, as I was so engrossed in the story.
You remind me one moment in the games that felt a touch repetitive where you have to find the person who distributed weaponry for the uprising.

In other news - Buy pay day - The heist.
Seriously good fun, probably some of the most fun I've had in a co-op game to date.
Really cheap on steam at the moment too.

Just started Minerva, is pretty good. The sudden burst of 'mood music' was a bit heavy-handed, but did the trick. Can't help but feel I'm being guided by GLaDOS though!
Update: FFS another game with an interesting storyline that wont evolve. Apparently there were meant to be 2 more (sound familiar ...?) but Valve hired him and they are shelved. And he worked on Portal, which would make sense of GLaDOS

Just finished the Mass Effect trilogy. Consistently amazing throughout (except the Mako missions in 1) until the last 5 minutes. Shame.
Now starting Skyrim and prepared to waste another 100hrs of my life.

Yeah, so I bought a 3DS XL. The Ministry of Home Affairs was not impressed.
Got the Fire Emblem edition (mildly jazzy case, and the game pre-installed)
Need to pick up a charger (WTF Nintendo?) and Animal Crossing New Leaf tonight, then I am set for 3d gaming on the fly.
In contrast to D.Generate's experience, I've just finished Bioshock Infinite and fucking loved it. I went straight onto hard mode and some parts were really fucking hard. Especially towards the end, there just isn't enough ammo for some guns, nowhere near enough cover and turrets are pretty much instant death. Headshots are mandatory or you just can't kill anyone. The Handymen caused me real trouble.
The final video seemed a little rushed, trying to shoehorn the rest of the storyline in for it all to make sense, but still, a very good game.
