I still have a love for the playstation even after having a 360 for a few years now. Before that I only played the ps2/ ps1.

seems to be lots of bedwetting about not seeing the console, isn't it more important what the specs are, rather than the box it comes packaged in.

Not looking to get one right after launch, but might in a year or so after, when they figure out how I can play my ps3 games on it, without me paying to play my ps3 games on it..

wondering what the xbox response will be..

ps. think driveclub will be bit of a bust, first person racer, fuck me I want to see what the back end of the car is doing..

I'm excited to see what the Microsoft response will be with the Xbox. I think on paper the PS4 will be better but it depends on what services they offer as to how the products will sell.

Who knows Sony may start charging for online - which would make the market more interesting I feel.

A lot of people are put off the xbox as you have to pay to play on line, but the service is superior in every way. Party chat across games, servers much smoother etc.

I can't see the next gen of consoles selling on exclusive titles.

You make a good point about how close the OS of all gaming systems are now. Perhaps the real question is why even bother with console exclusive games. All games should now be on a standard format which can be played on any console, the only USP distinguishing between consoles should perhaps be the community and social element.

Which is where the steam box comes in. It'll be made by different manufactures but all have the same Steam interface.

Hoping we'll hear something about that this year.

No, I don't know anyone who owns a PS3 or plans to own a PS4, therefore it would be a redundant plastic box for me

No. There's typical fanboyism on both sides - the playstation controllers are much small than xbox & a very different shape in the hand.

I am quite excited about the PS4 - will be very interesting to see how the legacy games thing actually works (they may have said but my internet was really clogged with other data at the time so the video was really jumpy).

Xbox controller is a lot nicer I reckon. PS3 is still like the PS1 controller with bits added.

Controllers... I actually mentioned that debate on Twitter. My editor poopooed it being a big discussion, then all hell broke loose as people picked their favourites.

Personally I don't care. I'm used to both, although I've used PS so long (PS1/2/3) that I know automatically what all the buttons do. I use Xbox controller with PC so my mind understands it in that setting, but I screw it up when using an actual Xbox
