Does that mean anyone with a gold sub can download it or do you have to submit for a beta?
-

Afaik anyone with a Gold membership can download it. It's an open beta for stress testing

Anyone doing BF3 the proper way, on PC?
I'm BrunUK if people want to add me on origin.
-
• #3733
If people download it through steam will they be playing with people on origin?? Or is that me just being thick?
-
• #3734
It was only available on Steam until EA took their ball home after deciding to use origin exclusively. It's certainly not there anymore.
I'm not sure about this, but expect origin to be a requirement for running it regardless of the distribution method.

The beta for BF3 is already available on Xbox Live. As Kirth said, it's available to anyone with a Gold account.
You can add it to your download queue now by going here: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/Battlefield-3/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80245410950
It's the download at the top of the list. I plan on spending my entire evening on it :-D

It's pretty good from what I've played so far.

Are there free ways to get gold accounts? I hate having to pay for something which doesn't actually offer much more than demos and the full functionality of games I've already bought (as far as I've been able to tell).
I'm paying Badlands a lot right now. It's not that great, but I find it relaxing walking around sniping people in the face. Still haven't really done the online stuff. I opened up a game, one other person joined. Ran around for about 5 minutes with me (I just kept doing my quest) and then logged off. That's more fun why?

I've been playing this flash-based asteroids clone for a while. I posted the link before, but i've just pushed the all-time high score over 300k so feel the need to share.
The shattering, tumbling, colliding asteroids are genius. I'd suggest playing on minimum graphics quality for maximum retro feel (also helps you see what's killing you). Keep calm and conserve energy.

Whoreatio - no, but you can get it for 3 months or something. To be fair it's worth it if you play online.

Driver : San Francisco review is now up. I really cannot read my own reviews when they are published, a bit like some movie stars who can't watch their own movies.
http://www.theaveragegamer.com/2011/09/29/driver-san-francisco-review-360/
I honestly think I fucked the review up, spent too much time trying to be a magazine review rather than an opinion review. Then I had to re-do a massive chunk of it because of that. Feels like a movie that's been through three directors.
Do give me feed back, even if it is "god, that's utter shite"

The connection with EA Online was lost
Lolwhut?

Getting the same... :(
It was working fine earlier but I guess as most of the US comes online, the servers are straining under the load.

Back online I think...

Anybody playing bf3 at the minute? Can't get on
-

That's all I get now, I was getting quite into it as well.

Bummer, wanted a quick peek

I installed it, played for 5 minutes. It's pretty, but I sucked and died lots and have uninstalled.

:)A review of a review?
Well I was tasked by kirth to review a review for the game driver that he submitted to the average gamer website. Far from being utter shite the review gave a clear overview of a game that he was surprised he enjoyed, with few spoilers.
His enthusiasm was apparent throughout and the self deprecatory notes about his (in)ability to play driving games added a personal dimension to the review as did his references to living in san fransisco,
In summary kirth gave an honest clear personal recommendation which would help any gamer to decide whether to buy driver or not.

Is this a review?
Actually just recalled that they're PS games, so unlikely.
