Cheers. I ended up buying a faulty headset on ebay for a tenner that should hopefully have a working mic but I'll keep that as a backup plan.

Does anyone with a Switch struggle with bad download speeds?

I’ve got a 4g router which gets 30-90mb/s download but no matter what I do the best I can get on Switch is 10mb/s. Wired or wireless I get the same result.

Not a problem for playing games but updates and downloads are taking 5-10 hours. I know the Switch isn’t renowned for super high speeds but this is getting pretty tiresome.

Could my network be limiting speeds specifically for game downloads? Or is it likely to be an issue with Nintendo’s servers?

Switches can be weird about router set up, NAT type specifically I think. You may need to forward some ports.

Anybody in London who has OG Xbox One, who’s got working power supply and would let me borrow it for day or two?

Need to plug it in to my old Xbox One to find out if the console doesn’t start up because of faulty power supply or Xbox itself.

A few hours download time isn’t the worst thing in the world but regularly missing out on Fortnite/ Discord hang outs with friends is really getting to me.

Thought I'd check out Dirt 5 because I fancied a rally driving game and liked Dirt 2 when I had it. Just watched a trailer and it's looking more like Rocket League crossed with Skate! Build your own car skatepark, neon lights everywhere 🤨

It's also coming to game pass this month so don't buy it if you're xbox...

Ah, it looks like the first one is also available for less that 4 quid. Makes a lot more sense.

Edit: Just had a little read up and realised that you get Dirt rally 2.0 if you want some proper racing. Dirt 5 for ridiculousness/skatepark.

I'd seen this advertised as coming to game pass as Soul mentioned and was excited so looked into it. The last I played was Dirt 3 and it was already pretty arcady then but it looks pretty dissapointing now. Will probably give it a go for free though.

Hoping Dirt Rally 2.0 comes back onto game pass at some point but doubt it.

Literally nothing (apart from data cap) to lose by giving it a go. I'll be trying it when it comes onto gamepass.

Oh absolutely, just have a rather long list of things to play already so probably wont be an immediate download when it hits gamepass.

I am a bit meh with the next gen consoles. Have both Xbox and PS5, yet there's like fuck all games. I find myself playing all previous gen or the much better PC versions.

I don't think I've played a next gen specific title. I started Miles Morales but was pissed that my console didn't come with upgrade to old-gen Spiderman and you had to PAY to upgrade it ? Wtf.

That said Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is fucking killer, working my way through so many random things on there I never bought as I didn't think I'd like them (but got stuck in a stupid running part in Medium)

Also this has led me to, never buy brand new. I just saw the list of Metro Exodus update coming and damn (although PC was good to start with).

Guess it's back to Fortnite with some buddies (RTX looks great on it, but yeah I've shot at myself in reflections too many times)

The falconeer and The Medium are both next gen specific and free on game pass.

Both quite enjoyable too.

I've been having a bit of a play with various game streaming services (Nvidia shield with Xbox controller). They're pretty good until you try online gaming and then there's a massive lag. Not quite sure if I'll bother setting my xbox up again.

Started playing Death Stranding again, previously reached episode 2 and real life distractions happened.
The graphics looks so god damn good, such a sucker for the MGS feel and Hideo weirdness

But I do wonder how much Monster paid the studio for this product placement lol...

Looks like Burnout Paradise is finally at a reasonable price on Switch, €15 for me
