as a new player I'd prioritise getting the jars of nectar to trade for keepsakes from all the different characters and the purple drop shaped things used to permanently unlock upgrades from the mirror in the bedroom.

Is any particular order of doors better than others?

I also installed Hades last night
Snap!
The "die to level up" mechanic
I wonder how long it takes before its tedious. Im already annoyed with the time it takes to walk through the palace/bedroom/training skeleton

Yes. I will need that.

You also need keys to make the game so much easier to more of The Mirror and weapons.
It does get so much easier.
Walk through the halls and speak to everyone giving the nectar, then ambrosia. Most important collectible is the blood...to get all-the-weapons aspects

Anyone interested in a steelseries arctis 5 headset? Great condition.

Just had a blast on CoD for the first time in about 6 weeks, I've lost it! Reactions, movement, aim - it's like being a noob all over again. Not helped by my new houses crappy internet.

The "die to level up" mechanic
Planescape Torment (old RPG) also had a lot of dying to drive parts of the story. Makes for a different experience
-

Oh I'm certain the mechanic has been used elsewhere, but it is new to me.

Can't be that bad, my account got hacked by some fucking PC idiot and I'm playing through the little battle pass rewards you get on MW cos they're mostly Cold War rewards....on my phone's internet tethering. Sorta giving up on it :(
Wouldn't be as pissed if I hadn't spent a bit of money actually buying operator and weapon skins. Activision haven't responded to my incident report for a couple of months. -

That does sound pretty crap!
Not the first story I've heard about Activision accounts being stolen either - they really seem to have dropped the ball with CoD in the last few months, the hacking situation is as bad as the World at War days! -

play apex legends, their netcode is geared towards the shooter so if you're lagging out no one can hit you as you teleport around and you can shoot people when you're not even visible on their screen.

Now that sounds a bit more like it!
I did used to play a bit of Apex Legends but struggled with the feel of it after years of CoD, now that they seem to have broken Warzone with the terribly balanced guns, repeated glitches & next to no anti-cheat software maybe it's time to shift back. Or maybe find a new game!
A was pretty close to calling it quits for gaming in general yesterday so we'll see. -

As if by magic; editorial coming out about switching away from Warzone.

Any suggestions on where to get a replacement mic for a Steelseries Arctis 1? They appear to be permanently out of stock on their site and I can't find anywhere else selling them.

Bowser's Fury is fun! Really looking forward to playing SM3DW again, the cherry power-up levels might be my fave game levels of all time...

anyone playing valheim?

Amazon US has a few knockoff versions it seems. Even with international shipping probably quicker than waiting for steelseries to get them back in.

Anyone play Destiny 2 (on PS4)?
I put many, many hours into the OG Destiny, but got put off by the DLC making it unplayable if you didn't have it.
Destiny 2 has gone free to play, but there is still plenty of DLC to chisel the pound notes out of your pocket. My question is, do you need the some/ all of the DLC to make the game playable?

I used to but once I got to the endgame grind I realized that it's basically a skinner box trying to get you to buy the cosmetics and grind equipment that's only useable for grinding slightly better versions of itself and if you haven't got a full team of friends to play the big missions with you're essentially locked out of the fun content.
the story is probably worth playing but as a game to really get into I lost interest once i had that realization (much like with the Division 1).

I vaguely remember they patched out the campaign with one of the DLCs, if they reinstated it for vanilla users, I might give it a whirl (As its free)

I've dipped in and out of Destiny 1 & 2. Now days they're trying hard to keep the end game relevant and keep it a 'living game' or whatever, but it just means when I try and come back to it after a 6 month break there's some new DLC it wants me to buy and I'd need to grind 30 hours to get back to a level to be able to enter everything.
If you're new to it then go ahead, it plays great, especially being free. When it comes to wanting some more content just buy the latest DLC is and it'll include all the previous stuff.
NP. I also installed Hades last night. The "die to level up" mechanic is really messing with all of my deeply ingrained survival instincts honed by many, many, many quarters and tokens.
