You need some classic Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid in your life again David.
There's only one game you need to tie you over - Vice City!!!!
Seems like i really don't need an xbox (till deus ex 360 that is)

Such a shame I can't play vice city on the 360. I'd be such a happy lad if I could.
-
• #2304
But you can, GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas et all.

*** Now watching 4 Vice city games for xbox on ebay.

VC was awesome
SA was average (by comparison)
4 is total balls -
• #2307
4 is depressing, it was fun to play but ulimately depressing.
Don't forget about Gay Tony ParryMan, that's defintely what GTA4 should be like.
-
• #2308
Fuck that. Chinatown Wars is how GTA should be. Top down. It's great btw. And three quid.
-
• #2309
Oh yeah! Chinatown War was the perfect balance between 3D and top down, real fantastic to play.
Much easier on the PSP though, tried the trial version on the iPhone and it was a little tricky.
-
• #2310
Chinatown Wars and The Ballad Of Gay Tony were awesome!
But Vice City is still the daddy.

Vice City was real fun, I did not like Vice City Stories that much (Liberty City Stories is defintely better).
I actually like San Andreas, it's so crass, so over the top, so far fetched, so ridiculous, it was fun to play.
But everyone find SA to be quite over the top not just in content but in map design, unfortuantely they made GTA4 (original) pretty dull with all the realism they added.
-
• #2312
I didn't find IV that dull.. In fact, if anything the 'realism' of having to work out/eat/build relationships/control parts of town made SA more boring to me.
-
• #2313
Oh yes, that's one thing I didn't quite like about SA, too much on the taking care of your character put me off a bit.
-
• #2314
lets face it the VC was the best because it had the soundtrack.
-
• #2315
GTA3 had Lazlo on Chatterbox FM, the Yakuza, and 8-Ball.
Vice City had Flash FM, Kent Paul, Candy Suxxx, and the motorbike.
San Andreas had OG Loc.
-
• #2316
Loved SA. I got it with the newly released PS2 Slimline and spent hours and hours on it. Fantastic soundtrack, characters and some really OTT missions.
-
• #2317
Vice city the soundtrack the setting and the story were amazing. San andreas was good fun even thoufh the map was Fucking huge, I'm not a huge fan of the hood gangs it was more fun once you become rich.
Oh and the working out part was great !
Next gta has to be a new vice city would be my top game ever and I could kiss my social life goodbye!

I remember a vice city Mod for PC so you could all play multiplayer online killing each other, that was seriously so much fun.
-
• #2323
Yeah check out gta4 for pc, you can do so much, and the game can record all your multiplayer games for editing after.

FNV is REALLY sensitive to the choices you make too. I've been playing it good, but have inadvertently become hated by the Legion. I can trick them into not attacking me by wearing their garb, but their dogs and named NPCs suss me out.
Likewise the Rangers. I'm all cool with the NCR, but the Rangers attack on sight. I can't attack as it'll affect my reputation with the NCR.
It's weird though, as you become hardened you take liberties. Like I wanted a Ranger outfit (the one that's on the title screen), so I got busy with a silenced sniper rifle and picked one off in his lookout. I think this might have contributed to their hatred of me.
To be honest it's so engrossing I'm inclined to not even play the missions. If it was real life I'd fuck the war and just hole up with the Brotherhood. They've got a secret bunker for shelter, big guns, cool armour and no inclination to interact with the rest of the Wasteland scum. Either that or go native, move into an abandoned shack, feed myself by picking off mole rats with a Varmint Rifle, and make a few caps on the side by selling the hides. Sweet and simple.
Loving F:NV. I was a massive fan of Fallout 1 & 2, and never picked up Fallout 3, but for £15 in asda snapped up New Vegas. Absolutely loving it. It's funny how close it is to the originals, despite being a different perspective. Great to see some old faces like Marcus. I'm not far into it (just been to Boulder City), but spent so much time faffing around and exploring.
My trouble is I always end up making a bit on an unbalanced character on my first play through, so didn't get much joy with all the locked doors and terminals in the Repconn HQ.

To be honest with you I always make a jack-of-all-trades, but judging by the more 'pro' guides I've read, they recommend giving all your SPECIAL points over to a couple of specific skills and make up the deficit with in-game collectables. Charisma is usually the first to suffer, you can always bully your way though dialogue.
I'm at a stage now where I'm having to make a genuinely hard decision, I'm completely torn. I might go with my heart. Siding with a certain group might alienate more powerful potential allies, but fuck it, at least when I retire the game to it's box I'll know I fought for the right cause, even if they're reclusive techno-monks.
