Actually quite digging apex legends now.
I'm usually a bit apprehensive of online multiplayer but the ping system in the game means you dont really need voice chat at all to play the game and not get destroyed all the time so I've had voice chat turned off and just been enjoying running around shooting stuff without having to deal with toxic overcompetitive bellends.
sometimes you'll get some bellend who just leeroy jenkins hisself off the ship and you end up getting wrecked immediately on landing because you're outnumbered but by and large people dont want to lose so they play cooperatively for the most part.
outside of the battle pass every 100 days which pays for new content and can be funded by finishing the previous seasons battle pass is also not abhorrent. all the extras are purely cosmetic so it's fun to get a decent skin from a free apex pack when you level up but also you dont have to feel obligated to pay to win as everyone gets the same stats and chances at picking up the best gear.
my one minor gripe is unlocking characters for free will take ages. I've got the latest char unlocked but if i want to try some of the more interesting ones any time soon I'll have to decide if they're worth roughly £6 per char to unlock them.

Think there have been quite a few delays with it so far, but looks like it'll be worth picking up.

Also, anyone see the Mafia trilogy announcement? Not too bothered about 3 (can't imagine much will change) or 2 (likely nothing more than an increased texture pack), but a modern remaster of the first game? Sign me up!

Loved the first! Great soundtrack.

If I could, I’d donate you some of my 202200 points. After you unlock all characters they become basically useless.
When I started playing there were just 2 new characters to be unlocked and that took quite a few games, so can’t imagine it now with 7 unlockable ones...

That was absolutely part of the reason I bought it. Figuring out how they've adapted real life Los Angeles County and it's surrounding areas is really interesting to see when you live here.
Re Strava - she was definitely talking about me being a nutter. She goes on 15km jaunts along the Thames and thinks that's a big ride, so a 100km ride with 2500m to her makes no sense at all.
Re GTA IV, yeah, I mean I was still in secondary school when that came out. Really is an old game now.

it's something like 20 levels to get enough Legend credits to unlock one character. so I'll see how i get on with that before i spend any cash on anything but learning the unlock characters will take plenty of time anyways, i've basically played nothing but bloodhound (coming from playing a lot of the division his "radar" ability is basically second nature for me, to the point I end up wasting any other characters abilities because I keep pressing L1 all the time.

It's had a bunch of critisism and and it's definitely a bit on the easy side but I still enjoyed it

I gave up, dialogue was wooden, game was crazy easy and there are no dungeons...

Just thought I’d drop in here ive put a switch on the misc classifieds with BOTW and smash bros plus all the gubbins and a hard case for £200.
Have barely used it apart from (as much as is feasible) to finish Zelda.
Just bought a second hand PS4 pro to smash GoW, LoU remaster and spiderman before Ghost of Tsushima and LoU2 come out!

I dare not look at footage of the getaway now but at the time it seemed basically photo realistic (probably because their textures were probably low res photos).
Although modern day renderings of Piccadilly Circus in COD or even London generally on Zwift just don’t have the same impact as back then.. -

I consider it the best Pokemón generation since the 2nd.

I think it was the fact it had actual shop names and frontages that made it unique, as well as real car models. Sure the graphics aren't exactly going to hold up now, but the little touches like driving past a Starbucks or Cafe Rouge added something to the game to make it feel more immersive.

I always remember my joy finding the Newcastle level on Driver, seeing the Tyne Bridge on a game blew my mind as a kid.
I also want to play M25 Racer now, when I was younger that was pretty much my view of the south, just people listening to dance music and driving supercars round London really fast.

That was 2 months ago. Or 37.7 lifetimes in lockdown time.
I had no idea about this game. I love running around London on games and used to do the same on the getaway.
