Forza Horizon is weirding me out. I'm in PC (master) world and there's 'drivatars' from xbox land all over the place. Assuming the cross-platform thing is fully functional I haven't figured out how to tell if I come across a real person yet. Suspect there's something in the icon which gives it away, although I swear one of the regular looking ones was following me the other day.
It took me a while to get into it, seemed to be a lot of stuff to do but couldn't figure out what the point. Then I realised that just 'doing stuff' was pretty cool and it's been awesome since. It's one of those 'this is the last thing I'll do before calling it a night' games, and then there's always one more thing...
For a game with an arcade bent, it's great that they've completely nailed the physics. Am playing with controller rather than wheel but the handling is still absolutely fantastic.

is there any stabbing in driving games? they should include 100% more stabbing if they dont.

Tried Elite Dangerous last night.
Went to launch, told me I need some launched app, went to dl it, crashed Steam.
When the next gen consoles come out i'm switching back, spend more time trying to get games to run than playing them, fucking PC nerd shit. -

The steam controller makes my thumb feel funny.

Also, my Xbox one (not particularity new) controller works via USB connected to the steam link. So that's nice.

See I find that interesting. I just install games and they work.
Only when I start doing weird things with Fallout does it start crashing
... well lets ignore Batman Arkham Knight which was the biggest piece of shit ever. They had to stop selling it on PC

Oh it's only the first time I launch games that I have any problems, it's just not as simple as consoles and I want the simplest most streamline experience and gaming solution as possible...

How is the steam link? I'm trying to decide what to do computer/gaming wise and one of them could be an option. Decent enough to play 1080 on med-high?
-
• #15786
Not sure what you mean. It streams from your computer, so will be as good as whatever it can do (at 1080).
I grabbed it for couch co-op. But it could be good for other games that work well with controllers.

Thats what I mean, does it handle the streaming ok? I imagine thats the weakest link, my current gaming HTPC is decent (4790k + 970) so can play most on Ultra@1080 but will the wifi be able to handle it?

Ah, sorry! I've got it set up wired. I suspect WiFi would struggle with lag, but I'm no expert on latency. You can pick up the power line adapters if it's an issue, I guess.
-
• #15789
The reviews I looked at suggested it struggled a bit using WiFi.

Yeah, i've heard the same... hmmm.. maybe best not then.
DL that launcher app for Elite Dangerous, got through to registering then something went wrong and my activation code wouldn't work (then another 6 turned up - so obvs something bugged somewhere).
Steam refund.
Bloody PC's. -

Decided I was playing Rocket League a bit too much and decided to go for something a bit more interesting. Installed Prison Architect and I don't know where the past few hours have gone...

Finally got around to playing Forza Horizon 3 with the chair / wheel.
It's so much more fun than with a gamepad. Offroad races are easier to control and force feedback makes even the slowest car a laugh to drive.

Sniper Elite 3 was having a 'free weekend' over on Steam and I was at a loose end.
I want my weekend back.

Installed Prison Architect and I don't know where the past few hours have gone...
Ah, Mick, you're clearly just a typical young lad. :)

When I was a young lad, sometimes I'd wonder
What happened to time when it passed.
Then one day I found out that time just lands in prison,
And there it is held fast. -

Steam does seem to log you out for no reason pretty regularly which is very frustrating.

Released new version of Donington for Assetto Corsa at the weekend which seems to have gone down quite well. It's great seeing people upload videos of it straight away.

Just need to do something about that pop-in of the fences. For some reason they render weirdly with specific AA settings, certainly wouldn't have released it in this state if I'd known. Bloody PCs.

Recently been playing a childhood fave timesplitters 2 as you can see from my avitar. Wow these buttons are so much more fustraiting than I remember although it is playable. Future perfect turned up for the ps2 aswell, I rember that having a more manageable aiming set up.
Also been playing ps1 CTR on my ps2 which I love even more now!Iv got 26 games odd for my ps4 and now I'm playing old games on old consoles...... Something wrong?

Using a light gun?
Those were the days. -

I was thinking about firing up the PS2 to play the TimeSplitters games a few days back. Now that the first early MGS and Ridge Racer games are playable on the Vita and Vice City on the PC, my PS2 never gets a look in!
Don't think it's unusual to be playing old games over new, there's a hell of a lot more chaff out there these days in my opinion!
Might try to dig out my PS2 to play some Speed Freaks, never got to play CTR a whole lot. This might be worth you checking out: http://store.steampowered.com/app/488350/

Deffo worth firing up for timesplitters. The music alone revived all the good memories of me and friends playing games till early hours.
Probably a reason why I went back to my ps2, it has the feeling I had when I was a kid and id play games before school. Ps4 hasn't done that, mainly because I'm an adult now and need to get things done ahaCTR is a must play. There are many must plays on the ps1 and ridge racer is deffo one I plan on getting, I think it was the 3rd one where you could earn money and buy cars from different classes.
I remember that section in the gunship really unnerved me when i played.
