  • Fallout New Vegas comes out on Friday. I'm a big fan of Fallout and coming from Nevada it will be fun to see my post-apocalyptic home. Unfortunately the in-laws are here for the weekend from Friday and I'll be away in Oslo the first half of next week so it will be a while till I get to dig in.

I'm hoping some of you will be playing it and posting reviews.

Basically the same as it was then?

  • Come on, we've got nuclear testing, Area 51, a repository for nuclear waste, poker and whores. That's culture.

sounds like heaven... what are you doiing in this god forsaken hell hole?
i'm off to navada from friday-will send you a postcard (or post a review)

  • Does anyone have a DSi for sale? Must be in excellent condition and with the charger. Black or white.

I quite fancy playing all the DS Castlevania games, as well as The World Ends With You, Lunar Knights, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest IX, and a few others...

What's everyone's opinion on the Dreamcast? I just discovered a wonderful piece of software called NesterDC. 800 NES games on a CD-R, playable on the DC. Awesome.

  • I haven't played a dreamcast in 10 years, there are some great games for that thing.

  • Crazy Taxi!

  • ^^^ Possibly the best arcade game ever made. I used to rock some high scores on that, could play for an hour and a half on 1 credit.

  • Just downloaded Penumbra.

Look fucking awesome, and it's those horror/adventure/puzzle games without needing to fight (much) monster.

  • Did anyone ever play this online game called crimson room? Its a weird japanese game where you're trapped in a room and have to find you way out by finding clues and items. I played it a while ago, never got through it and thought of it again just now. http://www.addictinggames.com/crimsonroom.html

  • I'm really addicted to League of Legends, its a free to play warcraft 3 mod. If anyone joins up add me, my names NickCage on it.

Ahh, the heyday of spending your IT time doing that puzzle, Penumbra is precisely like that, searching for puzzle and clue to advanced to the next stage.

some good character in Penumbra though.

  • Finished Halo Reach campaign - don't do online so that's that - no replay value for me

    Recco's please

  • Well, shit.

Playing FIFA 11 the other day when my screen starts going apeshit, matrix-style.

    YouTube - PS3 green screen

Picture corrupted, green lines everywhere. Turn it off, on. Works OK for another 10 minutes, then same problem. Try again, now I can't even see the homescreen cause my screen is too glitchy. Tried AV cables, same shit. FML.

  • Looks like your telly has swallowed some acid...

Is there anything on the PS3 support pages?

  • Yeah it says "Pay us £150 for a 90-day-warranty refurb model or go fuck yourself".

  • Nah I reckon it's the graphics chip that has fried. Cheapest fix will probably be the buy a malfunctioning PS3 that has another issue on ebay, and swap the motherboards over. Dunno if I can be arsed with that really .. unless I can get the faulty PS3 for less than £50 or something.

  • Right. Apparently there is some kind of workaround fix involving heating the soldering behind the graphics chip causing it to melt and reseal the connections. Not sure if it's gonna help but I may as well give it a shot some time this weekend. I've downloaded a .pdf guide to help me on my way.

    will report back.

Sounds like what you're supposed to do when an Xbox 360 gets the 'Red Ring of Death'.
Turn it on with no disc inserted, wrap it up with loads of towels and just leave it for a while. Apparently this heats up all the solder so it will melt back into place and dry that way when you let it cool off.

    Apparently it works.

  • Or you take off the heat sink and put washers under it then put it back on.

  • So Vanquished and fallout out this week
    can only afford one game
    don't know which to get
    Fallout- Devil I know
vanquished- new original IP made by the fabulous bayonetta crew

  • Vanquish looks great.

  • vanq IMO
New Vegas is (apparently) bug ridden.
wait until after xmas when the first wave of patches have been done to sort the worst of it then get Fallout.

I got BFBC2 from boomerang this morning, not managed to play it yet (a complete fucking nightmare trying to replace my HDD, first the blue screw of doom, then the caddy screws, then getting the new HDD to update, currently restoring the backup)

  • cheers guys
vanquished it is, the demo was amazing, frenetic fun and old skool
(will swop for fallout when finished if anyone up for that)

  • Vanquish is apeshit crazy
