Anyone buying Halo Reach next week? I'm not sure tbh. Played halo 3 at the weekend as I thought it might convince my I need to buy it but I don't think I will.

I enjoyed the first Halo, that was fun, simple, and even with the lack of subtitle, have a good story to keep you compelled (bit annoying listening to that 'spark plug' constantly moaning without having any idea what it's saying).

tThe next couple of Halo seemed to be just the same with the same story, I only played Halo 3, but that despite it's eye candy, doesn't really get me into it, I just feel compelled to finish it for the sake of finishing it.

I hate that feeling. Most games give it to me by the ends, these days, though.

Also played 2 and 3 and finished them but they were not as tight and simple as #1. I gather reach is going back to basics and will have a similar simplicity to the first game so will be picking it up(and will offer to swap when finished (crsipin?) so if you're prepared to wait...)

For those who love Bioshock, you should watch the film, the Hudsucker Proxy which were a big influence on Bioshock.

Hell, it's even set in new year '58.

Played the Mass Effect 2 demo yesterday - wow. Can't believe I haven't played either of them before now.

I'm now going to pick them both up at lunch and start on the first one tonight - can't wait!

+1 to this and Ed's comments. a lot of the gameplay in Halo 2 especially was very samey and it would just be entering an identical room again and again but just with a slightly different assortment of baddies each time.

Also feel that the guns don't really feel like they hit home and it's got a too floaty feel in my view.

the positives are a good selection of vehicles and its pretty.

I am getting bored of battlefield 2 now and need a new game and just know that Halo 3 won't sate my thirst

I'm trying to play through Halo 3 at the mo and it doesn't seem to draw me in like the earlier games so it's taking a while.

Was playing both the demos today, and pro evo was far, far better.

Online master league too! Play real people, in a league and transfers battled out amongst the league. Awesome concept, and can't wait until Novemer. There can be only one Messi / Ronaldo / Rooney in the league.

fourteen, don't know if your ps3ing or xboxing, but think we can get enough people to purchase pro evo/fifa 11 to sort out a league.
should just note that I'm shit but it'll probably be the only way that I'll ever play any sort of football again. also will mean that whichever game I buy I'll actually have to play it, rather than letting it gather dust on the shelf..
