  • I've been playing Dead Space for a bit, it's an interesting perspective on the mix of 3rd and 1st person view being combine into this, didn't like how 'cropped' the view is, but quickly got used to it.

Quite honestly, while I do like Dead Space, it just seemed very run of the mill, space horror games battling unknown lifeforce in an abandon ship.

  • yeah i know what your saying..have you seen the film Event Horizon? was based on that. still love shooting limbs off! lol. hoping the next one will be just as good, but not gonna hold my breath.

  • have to say am underwhelmed by the new xbox body motion stuff - clearly an attempt to challenge the wii family type game market.

The new xbox itself looks pretty sweet in terms of improving on an already solid system. but the motion sensor stuff looks pretty lame at the moment. I suppose it is just slow steps towards an eventually decent game with good gameplay as the technology improves.

The body motion technology has the opportunity to kick the wii/ps3 stuff into touch - the big selling point is that there is no need for a controller at all.

I did notice similaries, what the games does need is more audio logs.

after playing Bioshock, the number of audio logs in that games are staggerlingly small.

  • Dirt2 for my birthday. AWESOME. Massive depth, the annoying american is not de-activateable, but is apparently less annoying than in Dirt1.

Still have Assassin's Creed 2 on the go, getting through that quite quickly, work allowing. Not stopping for the side missions because the storyline is so strong, and I want to know what happens next!

  • 1) I need to buy a new computer
    2) They've given the little robot helper mannerisms that are reminiscent of Michael Fielding (it seems to me).
    3) Wicked.

  • Fuck that look awesome.

    Can't wait for HL2:E3.

    +1

  • Any word on a release date yet for Ep3?

I've also started playing Call of duty - world at war again. Forgot how much I love that game, probably more than mw2.

Also started playing Diablo 2 with a friend again at the weekend, another quality game.

  • Got the new maps for MW2. The trailer park one is ace.

  • Just been playing Red Dead Redempton.

    fucking ace.

I love the GTA series games, they're hugely fun and a parody of our favourite films, the latest one (GTA4) somehow seemed a bit... lacking despite having fun, it's until The Ballard of Gay Tony that it defintely feel like a proper GTA games.

Red Dead Redempton is almost GTA in the Wild West, and so much better at that, it's hugely refreshing and so much more enjoyable than GTA4 (use the same engine), it's also beautiful to look at.

Go get it, seriously worth playing if you love GTA.

  • ^It would be a good game if i could read the bloody small text with mission objectives and instructions. Be good if there was an option to hear the text.

I suppose the message is that an old geezer shouldn't be playing games nor should a poor bloke who can't afford hdtv. Same happened with ME2 and dead rising...

    RDR swap offers accepted

  • Yep RDR is great!

Oh and in other news... Counterstrike source is out for mac, oh yeah!! I tried downloading it last night but the servers were too busy apparently :(

Games just aren't developed for CRT's anymore. It's sharp as anything in HD. I had a CRT when I bought the game, and I know exactly what you mean about the text. Luckily the Missus decided it was new TV time, and it made such a difference!

  • Need to get Red Dead Redemption, spent all weekend playing it at my pals but haven't got round to getting it myself.

As long as it holds my interest for longer than the insufferably dull GTA4 I'll be happy. But then it shouldn't be too hard, the Wild West is way cooler than some generic bad-ass modern city.

  • It's so good. the story line and character development is amazing!

all the characters that come and go are brilliant, with their own little quirks.

I haven't drifted too far from the stroy line tobehonest, and I'm pretty far through now. One or two more sessions this weekend and it'll be completed. :)

  • Pokemon gold on the Gameboy colour FTW!!

#crispin glover You're welcome to borrow/swap my copy of RDR which i can't play till i upgrade my tv. PM me if interested

  • I'm starting to secretly plan to buy an xbox 360 and new TV. anyone got a console they're willing to sell for cheap?

  • I suppose the message is that an old geezer shouldn't be playing games nor should a poor bloke who can't afford hdtv. Same happened with ME2 and dead rising...

Exactly, there's a lots of games that are diffcuilt to 'read' on a normal television, I only gotten the LCD due to Assassin Creed when the missus couldn't read anything on it.

still, you don't need to get the latest huge LCD, a 20-22inch* one is plenty enough to watch and play, I got mine for £140 partly because it's the same size as the old CRT and the flat is pretty small.

*that is if you don't have your sofa a miles away from the telly.

  • Ghostbuster: the video games.

not the best games in the world, and it's pretty short, but it's a lots of fun, who here want to be a ghostbuster when they were kids?

it's £3 in Steam at the moment, bargain.

  • Oh Max Payne bundle pack cost £2.50 too.
