It's not a helmet it's a visor mount and it works well as that. Worn one it wasn't really for my head shape but the visor was awesome.
Did I mention the visor?

but not 'aero' enough for my tastes
Lol

If anyone wants a Kask Infinity.... hit me up.

• #930
If I felt I could get away with a bambino I would :-)
-
• #931
Apologies then haha, In that case I'd go for the Ballista, watching pro-cycling it's night on impossible to tell it apart from the evade from a distance, so If that's the styling you like, that's a pretty good measure I'd say
-
• #932
Yeah front and rear are very similar. Less vents on the side but when you are bald, you are freezing in all conditions!
-
• #933
Protone is probably the fastest road helmet out there
-
• #934
It's slower than the infinity, but designed to be a fast helmet with more ventilation than the average aero helmet.
-
• #936
What is the lightest, vented, but with aero concession helmet?
-
• #937
Protone.
@eyebrows i'll always take BR testing with a pinch of salt.
-
• #938
Of course it's always going to be fairly individual so you're probably better off going for the one that fits best.
-
• #939
Ta.
I don't take anything BR says seriously.

I have also heard that the Specialized wind tunnel has some major flaws in its design and how it's run, but nothing concrete.

If you look at all the aero data. Then take into account looks, weight and fit. The Ballister is a real winner.
Which is why I bought a Octal aero. I dont mind looking a twat though.

Has anyone used a lazer z1 in large and medium?
The large fits me when I'm wearing a hat with the dial turned all the way tightest fitting. Without a hat it slips around a bit much.
Wondering if I can wear a medium without it being too small.

Lol
On closer inspection there are a lot of similarities between the ballista and a f1 side pod... (I'm bating engineers)
1)Small central vent where high energy air tends to stall so best used for cooling
2)Smooth sides and top for minimum drag
3)Big vents at rear to reject expanded hot air and to smooth out turbulent air that is trying to refill low pressure zone behind
4) slot ducts on the top of the ballista which tries to minimumise the boundary layer over the top of the helmet to reduce dragNow obviously I don't ride at 300kph and my head doesn't reach motor coolant temperatures....

Have you tried the Limar 007?
It has a rubbish sizing range. But if it fits, it looks very low profile, and very aero.
-
• #945
First I have heard of them. They look very TT oriented. Anyone know of a reseller?
-
• #946
I'm in the middle of a large with no hat, and towards the higher end avec, and can squeeze a medium on my head on the loosest setting. Only problem is the medium sits a bit higher due to it's puny size.

Dunno.
Saw direct energy using them. Looke seriously low profile from the front.Think they only come in one shell size though.

Popped into lbs tonight, just to pick up some chain lube, and came out with a Spesh Propero 2, for £40. Specialized are running a helmet amnesty, with rather large savings on some models. Sorry if this had already been mentioned.
-
• #949
thanks. might see if a lbs has one i can try on.

As mentioned last week, got the Spesh Propero 2, I'm finding it pinches at the temples, leading to headaches on longer rides, it's good for upto 1hr, but starts to niggle thereafter. Adjusted it all the possible ways, no joy.
What do you think my chances of lbs taking it back are?
Sorry if that wasn't clear, but that was kind on the conclusion that I reached. I really wanted the met to work, but the Bontrager fitted me much better
