  • I've got quite a oval/narrow bonce, so the more circular helmets don't touch the sides of my head and the helmet tends to settle at a wonk. The best I have found so far is a Catlike, but it is just too small in an M, and the L is way too big. Anyone in the same boat and can recommend something?

  • The fore-aft tilt of the giro air attack is adjustable. Which allows a nice visor placement.

  • Get an aero helmet. So nice riding when it's cold and raining.
Anyone riding around with vents in winter is a mug.

Plus it's not actually warm here in summer.

  • I did slide down the roc lock to the third position, still too high for my weird cranium.

  • I think giroo have an awesome fit system. But the visor does highlight any fit issues. Mine sits perfectly. But my nose doesn't. So the gap between the visor and my nose is uneven. Took a while to realise it was my face that was at fault.

Living in a cold country is exactly why I bought an aero helmet.

  • Evade look fine. They're basically a normal road lid with less vents.

  • That was my reasoning for even thinking about them. I don't race in them so the aero benefit is moot, but they are warmer. I don't go to the Alps often enough to need cooler lid.

  • Fuck, £160 would make them more expensive than the one it's replacing which was already expensive. Out.

  • Fluoro commuter lid ^

  • can back JB on this one. got mine on his recommendation and I really like it. less bulky than my ionos too

  • I tried it, it fits so good like no other Specialized helmet, too bad for price tag and elongated shape, too racey to be used as well like an everyday helment.

  • oooops. edited :)

  • Nah, I was just taking the mickey out of a helmet being too racy, in that, short of a full aero helmet I don't see how. I'd rather a fast looking lid than one of those jockey helmets or a bmx freestyle bucket.

  • Looks wise the Spesh is a mess.

Without the visor the air attack doesnt look terrible being ridden up the side of a warm French mountain. But the massive rear spike of the spesh makes it a bit too TT. Just my taste I Guess.

Why not just get the decent looking Scott in Orica colours?

  • The Spesh looks better than the Air Attack and that bucket that is the Scott aero road lid.

  • I woman cycled past me With one of those Giro commuter buckets on back to front a few weeks back. To be honest, like that, it looked a lot like my Air Attack. :S

Its seems the smart thing here would be to just get one of the road helmets that come With a plastic for Teh Aeros (by which I mean rain). Catlike, and Lazer do them at least.

  • Covering the outside of the helmet is a lot more comfortable than layering under it IMHO.

  • Don't they serve different purposes though? Covering outside = rain and some wind protection and a little more warmth, maybe get more sweaty / covering inside = more warmth and could cover ears and back of neck too, plus maybe aid with wicking sweat.

  • Try a Lazer o2 - I have a narrow bonce and it fits really well. They're cheap, you can get the aero-shell and helmet here for £65!

I'm sure someone has mentioned it already but Air Attack for £97 at evans

  • Just tried the Giro on- tilt city. The aero Spesh lid fit the best, but all my old Spesh lids have had The Wonk, so a bit worried about that.

  • I got it for £86 two days ago, lucky me!

@Smallfurry did you try to remove the decals/prints on yours? I wanted to give it a go but first want to understand if it's something doable or not...

  • Prevail Vs. Octal - Opinions? Best prices?
