I got a Kask Vertigo. It's nice. Much nicer than the Mojito.

Apart from the catlike above, does anyone know which helmets come with a 'aero' cover, more a rain cover? Would like to keep the rain off my head this winter.
As full on aero helmets seem to be £££.

^ Spiuk Dharma?
In the places I've found them, they come with a cover for free. Nice looking, thinking of grabbing one due to my Catlike being too big... They sponsor Bretagne-Séché Environnement too. -

So I just got this, in same colour. With visor. I feel like a spaceman.

I have a Kask Mojito and it is great. I can use for longer rides and fits perfectly.

Lazer genesis and helium both have snap on covers for cheap.

Anyoen know what the difference between the Kask Mojito and K-10 Dieci is supposed to be?
I've had a Mojito for a few years and love it, but need to get a new lid. I want to stay with Kask coz they fit my massive head, but can't really tell what the extra tenner gets you on a Dieci? One strange thing is it's a touch more heavy despite being the range up

Apparantly the Dieci is the same shape but more mushroomy.

Whaddya mean, same shape but looks different on your head?

Anyone know when the Protone is out?
-
• #639
I guess it just sits higher on the head and is more "puffed out" rather than low profile. Long story short, stick with the Mojito.

POC are now making a MIPS road helmet. When my catlike whisper dies that will be my next road helmet.

Advice sought on fitting, sorry for the n00b question…
I don’t normally wear a helmet but decided to buy one so I don’t have to use loaners for track sessions/be precluded from some club rides. I tried a few different brands and ended up buying a Giro (Savant, superfit large) as it was the most comfortable. I then read that when properly adjusted you shouldn’t be able to move the front up on the forehead more than an inch or so. However, in order to achieve this level of snugness it’s necessary to make the band and particularly the straps uncomfortably tight.
Is it likely that the helmet just isn’t the right fit, or does it take some extremely careful fettling of the fore/aft straps to achieve the correct level of snugness?

This is why it's important to try helmets on and adjust them to see how they fit before you buy one.
Helmet should be about a finger width above your eyebrows, then tightened up at the back. Buckles should be just below your earlobes and the strap done up so only two fingers can fit between the strap and your chin.

Ha ha I did though! I can get it to fit comfortably and (what I considered to be) snugly. It's just the not being able to move it more than an inch part, which I’m sure is very useful in a head vs road situation, but I don’t see how it can be achieved without doing the chin strap too tight.
I’ll have another go at adjusting the strap and if it still doesn’t feel right I’ll return it.

Go find some monkey bars, hang upside down and shake your head about. Use results to determine if different helmet is required.

Well I do that as part of my morning wake up routine anyway - it hadn't occurred to me to use it to try the helmet out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Walk round the house after dark with all the lights off. If you survive then it fits.

So, since my old helmet is getting quite ratty and maybe a little untrustworthy, I am looking for a new one, that does not make me look like a mushroom.
I have a large head with a large forehead, so helmets mostly look like they sit on top of my head, rather than on it.So I'm, looking for a helmet for commuting and mountainbiking (no aeros required) that looks nice on a huge head and is sub 100quid preferably.
Anyone recommend where in London has a decent selection of road helmets...particularly giro? Thanks (note the designation of road helmets as opposed to just 'helmets' as I'm sure if you look closely enough, you can find many helmets anywhere in London).
