Who gives a crap what they look like.. everyone already thinks you're a bell for cycling anyway.
Has to be said, those oh so cool bibs, the retro jersey, the flashy disco slippers, and klingon styled helmets. Lustful items individually, but most of us look like twats when we put it all together.
Helmet brands are like shoe brands. Some run big some run small. Plus if you have a very round, or very pointed head. Your opinion of which way round this is can be the opposite to someone elses.
I like Met, and Lazer. Lazer tend to fit while allowing for a thick skullcap. Met are too snug for this, but aces in the summer. So I have one of each.
My strad is designed for baldies, and has big cooling channel that conincides with my bald patch.

^ if you buy a MTB helmet the back support part may be too low down to be comfortable when on a road bike as your head till be tilted up more.

That makes a lot of sense SF. I think I'll go and try on a few. Don't get me wrong though - I've gone into this exercise without trying to come out looking good - it's all damage limitation - I'm trying to end up looking as least bad as possible.

If it fits well it'll look better. The more expensive ones tend to offer the standard level of protection while being less bulky.

I have a Lazer.......and a round head. Good for fellow roundheads to know.
Posts like this could actually make this thread a useful resource.
Which is against a LFGSS charter or somethin.

not necessarily: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=lazer+genesis&_frs=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m359
and if anybody consider themselves fellow hip hop-slaves too, then it's nice to know that the mash crew also likes this helmet

I quite like the Catlike Kompact O helmets, does anyone know which London shops stock them? I know TFG stock the matte black one, are there any others?

Not convinced, what does it offer that normal bike lights don't?
-

Yes, lets make ourselves look even more like freaks.
Needs Respro mask and a Hump to ensure maximum wtf-itude

Confusion for other road users, especially if it is the riders only source of light.

It screams gimmicky overengineering.

Agreed!
If they had incorporated indicators and a mask too I would have pledged money....NOT!

Just ordered a Kask K50 for £60 to replace my 3 year old Specialized that probably has all the protection of a giant piece of popcorn now.

I've got a Kask K10 which I'm really happy with. Very adjustable and comfy.

Couldn't get over the horrible Sky blue bit on the K10, so went for the black K50, which is actually lighter and has more vents.

Yeah I hate the Sky designs. Got a Kask Mojito about a month and a half ago and its perfect for my incredibly spherical head. Really happy with it. A shame that Wiggle had £20 quid off earlier this week but life will go on. Did you try one on first?
