  • Sub roll with boursin, porchetta, tomato and lettuce.

  • Bloody marvellous I tell you

  • That sounds amazing.

  • It really was rather good - definitely one to do again.

  • sliced white bread, salt and vinegar crisps, tomato ketchup

  • I had exactly this today, thanks to a crippling hangover

  • Baguette, crispy smoked bacon, ripe brie, mango chutney - tomatoes optional.

  • Whatever bread in a toaster + Primula (chive ideally) = lazy cheese toasty, also know as: LCT

  • Custard and jam (of your choice, mine would be fig or greengage) or marmalade.

    My preference is soya custard.

    Can add nuts etc.

  • Presumably between two bits of bread. How does custard behave in a sandwich?

  • Either bread or a roll...Alpro custard is well behaved and stays put but I don’t overload it....In fairness, most people think it is a yuck idea and think I am crazy (probably true) but I love custard and jam and thought give it a try and I love it...but I do like sweet things.

  • Crunchy peanut butter and (thinly spread) marmite on crusty granary.

  • Peanut butter, cheddar cheese and coleslaw. Crusty bread.

  • At the weekend I had ,

leftover rare topside , melted very mature Cheddar , Tomatoes , Baby gem, raw red onion and reds true barbeque burger sauce and some mango chutney on Co-op ancient grains sourdough . rather good.

  • bread
    honey mustard
    turkey breast
    manchego
    honey mustard
    bread

  • Peanut butter
    Chilli oil
    Shredded beef or lamb
    Kimchi
    In a baguette

  • thats crazy talk

  • I recently bought a plastic wrapped pitta bread from a petrol station shop in Datchet (or Datchay). It looked like it contained cheese and onion but was actually cheese and shredded white cabbage. Nothing else in it or on it but it was surprisingly good.

  • Take two slices of white bread.
    Butter on both sides.
Add a packet of Smarties betwixt the slices.
    Introduce to a sandwich toaster.

It's very very good indeed. I used to make them when I was at boarding school years ago, could probably benefit from a touch of Maldon sea salt for umami vibes.

  • You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • Agreed,
they've been called M&Ms for years.

  • A former tutor would occasionally send me out to get sandwiches, paying for mine. He would always request the same thing, emmental and grilled zucchini (courgette obvs) 'on' ciabatta. I always thought this was a weird and insipid choice but one day out of curiosity I had one myself... lish.

  • an open faced sandwich with cheese, red onion and tomato represents everything that is right and proper

  • That needs to go under a grill and you’ve got an absolute winner.

  • Pickled beetroot (crinkle cut), extra mature cheddar and mayo between two white or nutty brown doorsteps.
